@@Biid21 That was literally the whole point of Negan's entire introduction plan, if you remember the events leading up to the mashed potato'ing of Glenn, Rick was super overconfident while facing the saviors before that dreaded moment. They were slaughtering saviours in their sleep and thought they could just brush off the consequences, which makes complete sense because they had been able to overcome so many obstacles up to that point. Remember the scene where Rick met up with Simon, Negans right hand (0:17 Steven ogg a.k.a Trevor from GTAV), Rick was extremely smug there and felt untouchable. Then in the finale I believe, the episode where they were trying to get Maggie to hilltop because she wasn't well, you could clearly see the confidence in Rick starting to break as they reach each checkpoint that had a shit ton of saviors chilling there. The realization that "Oh shit, that's a lot more people than I thought they had....it's starting to look like they outnumber us".
