I was so nervous about the last one. I remember when Rhett and Link ate that with no idea how bad it was.

I loved the apple corer pealer slicer my grandmother had. Just need to get my paws on one assembled correctly..😑 I understand the appeal of hand crank tools, the noise a kitchen aid make is awful.

Using the app there are a list of areas I can choose to watch - I had no idea how different the app is from the online. I’ll stick with the app.

I watch KZfaq via an app not from directly online and this doesn’t open directly to shorts!! For me (iPad) I need to scroll a little and can bypass to anything else if I want to!

That Kan mixer looks fabulous! I’m in the United States and pretty old🫢🫢 and I’ve never seen one of these before - even in antique shops, so I’m guessing it just didn’t make it over the ocean! I sure would love to have one!!! They look very sturdy!

There are still items like the hand apple peeler in the market - I might even have one somewhere! And they still,do a great job! Took me a little bit to figure out what it was but I did guess right! And it still works - with just a little help needed😁😁😁

My parents had a tool similar to the egg beater, from around soviet times. Took it while moving out, and i really like using it for basically anything, but mostly scrambled eggs

OMG, that pie crust looks amazing! I would love that rich pie! You really can't go wrong with that much butter. In America, there aren't a lot of good places to get meat pies, but they're so good!

How did you get through all the egg white beating without mentioning the pavlova (and which nation can claim it as their invention)?

I’m no specialist at all, just a regular mum so I can’t add much to this… but as a teenager I remember my Nan had a friend (Jean) who used to make toffee apples for Halloween. One year while making the apples, the molten sugar kind of exploded as she was dipping an apple in… the apple of course was on a lolly stick, but she thinks the apple wasn’t dried properly after washing it ready to dip, and she ended up with molten sugar all over her index and middle fingers. Running cold water on them while waiting on the ambulance offered barely any relief, and her fingers ballooned up like you wouldn’t believe. She ended up having to have her index finger removed, the poor love but that was the end of her toffee apple making. I’m in my 50’s now and so of course Jean has long since passed away but the idea of working with super heated anything terrifies me

I grew up using a dijon mustard yellow Sunbeam electric mixer. Ibhave a Kitchenaid now, because it was a weddding gift all those centuries ago, and there are good things about each. Still noatalgic about the old Sunbeam. 😢

Now, you can't buy those kinds of apple peelers any more, true. You can however buy apple peelers that work in a similar way, but better, and who also can slice and core your apples! And they are amazing.

You say, you wouldn't find designs like that apple peeler, but I my parents own a similarly exposed piece, with a slightly more advanced design to also cut the apples into spirals. And it's not much older than a decade.

Thanks for another good video about useful information. Actually wanted to comment on Dave's upcoming book. Glad to hear there will be another. I understand I am not the target audience for the books. I am a 70 year old retired American chemical engineer living in Japan and spending my retirement years teaching English in a private school working for a good friend. I bought Dave's first book, "The Deep Enders", because I was interested in learning about the Australian experience during WWII from a fictional, yet local, viewpoint. I found the book interesting and compelling in many ways. It gave me pause to think about the war from another perspective. I will look forward to the sequel to the story. Ray

I use a 100+ year old sewing machine on the regular. It doesn't even have a motor, yet it does the job perfectly every single time without fail. Which is far more than can be said for any sewing machine made in 2024. So what if it doesn't do 300 stitches? I don't use those anyway.

Im absolutely floored by the physical timeline you constructed 🤩 What a lovely editing choice. And the level of artistry! Those tiny stand mixers are so well made i wonder how sculpting the beaters was even possible
