I need to get back "out there". Been parked for the last 8 months now with all this Thargoid stuff going on. Thanks for keeping exploration alive in Elite!

To be fair, we now don't actually know whether the next two ships will be variants or new ships either, now that the Type 8 has actually been revealed to be a new ship.

I have just started playing elite again after a 2 year break. I started as a explorer in the early days of ED and got my ELITE wings that way. Started combat then got totally bored so left. Having seen your guides I have just started out into the black again. WOW its where Elite really shines. I can see me being drawn in again. Your collection of images can only inspire. Thanks for bringing Elite back to life for me.

There are so many aspects of the design that I love, including the slightly different cockpit canopy compared to existing Lakon ships that sport a similar design; it feels both sleeker in the sense that it's got kind of a roundness to it, while also looking more reinforced and chunky. Definitely looking forward to getting one.

You are whipping the mouse around much too fast when scanning for resources, and missing some HUGE signals for Iron, Silicon, Carbon, and the ICE you need for the farms you refuse to research, along with every subset of the major categories like the science ships and tech lab. You are effectively skipping half of the game. Fully upgraded domotic living quarters are similar in density to coffins in a slot machine (AKA cell housing) screwed to the wall but will boost trust instead of costing it. Have you noticed that "Valhalla" is the consciousness of Vanir Dolos, uploaded into an AI (all the AIs are actually the remains of actual people who apparently chose to be digitised as AIs)? You will need to take a backup of your former boss.

I normally use droning sounds like storms or train passings to block out tinnitus when i sleep. Occasionally, I like to mix it up with sounds from Elite like these. Active geological features are also a good one but can be hard to find in large enough groups to provide the right sounds. Anyway, I just want you to know that people do appreciate these. Loops would be awesome, too, although I know those kinds of videos take a while to process.
@CMDRExorcist2 күн бұрын
Thanks!!! I enjoy these as well and seeing that the Titans are slowly being chiseled away, I wanted to make sure that I preserved some of their audioscapes before they were gone. Do you mean "loops" as in a continuous play without my 10 second title card at the end? Because that's good feedback for the next one. o7!
@wonder_platypus83372 күн бұрын
@CMDRExorcist Yes, exactly. I think it's easier with stuff like rain or trains, but a lot of the stuff I listen to is just a 20-minute track on repeat for 10 hours so you can sleep to it and not get woken up in the middle of the night when it cuts out. Obviously, I'm not suggesting that long, but a loop of the audio faded into itself once or twice should do the trick here. You probably know a lot more editing tricks than me though! Thank you again! Edit: Now that I reread what you said I think what you're suggesting is the whole video be the audio, and nothing else. Which would work if someone just wanted to make a playlist with enough in a row to play through the night. I've done that before.

You are really feeling the pain from abandoning so many resources in the Solar system, and even leaving half the known survivors of the human race to die there. And the beatings still continue until morale improves (or you learn what "extra hours" means).
@phillee28142 күн бұрын
Remember that the Tiqqun was badly damaged in that initial test jump that tore up the moon so badly that it melted rock, like a huge asteroid impact. Of course it is in less than perfect condition, but unfortunately, that bucket of bolts is all humanity has left. You badly need to extract every resource and science point from the entire solar system before leaving it forever, so you should have left nothing. Instead, you killed half the known human population in your insane dash to the place where the Protagoras was wrecked and needed to send an SOS. What could possibly go wrong?
@Jeff-662 күн бұрын
First time on your channel, just had to say, your speaking voice is outstanding.
@phillee28142 күн бұрын
Hephaestus (or more accurately Hephæstus), like Oulixes (you licks ease), is a Greek name. Emphasis is on the second syllable in both cases. "Extra hours" does NOT mean you have extra people, but that you are demanding compulsory overtime (i.e. extra hours) from your workers. The beatings will continue until morale improves. You urgently need to defrost more cryopods, and it is nuts that you even have some on board but have turned the cryonics centre off while still deficient in workers. You had better aim at 10% surplus workers per sector, or every time you build anything you will cause accidents and kill off valuable workers. That delay while you hunted up the electronics and struggled with the resource management to move it to the right sector cost you badly on hull integrity, and OF COURSE efficiency drops off as the big holes are patched - it takes longer to find the smaller holes and patching each of them has less effect than patching a big hole.
@phillee28142 күн бұрын
The workers in Sector 2 came out of your Sector 1 workforce, which, of course, left Sector 1 overworked. You need to have all the resources, including human, available before opening any new sector. Short version, thaw out cryopods and watch your population carefully (remembering not all are workers, the rest should ideally be trained as colonists) before opening new sectors. That 40 are those needed just to run the basic operation of the sector - mess hall, infirmary, workshop, and stockpiles for food and building materials. Anything else you build there needs to have more workers (specifically workers, not "any crew" which includes non-working future colonists) transferred in. Oh, and always wait until all the science has been gathered before leaving a site. You will be screaming for that science soon.
@phillee28142 күн бұрын
"Accidents" are self-inflicted, by moving outside optimal working conditions. It is possible to do a complete run to completion with 0 accidents if you never require extra hours of the most valuable resource you have - your workforce. Once you trigger the program routine that causes accidents, by straying outside optimum working conditions, they will always happen, although the more extra work you force from your workers, the more frequently they occur. It is amazing to me how few so-called "reviewers" ever worked out that basic game mechanic.
@phillee28142 күн бұрын
All the names in this system come from Mad Max - I actually think of it as the Mad Max system. You desperately need to prioritise upgrading the laboratory, as you can very quickly be generating science points faster than you can collect them. It's a bit of a mistake to leave the solar system before doing that, and you should never leave science untapped because you haven't researched the technology to do it. With the lab upgraded, if you arrive at a planet and find you need deep diving, exoskeleton suits, or whatever, you do the research to have that technology immediately, before leaving the planet, and get on with the exploration that requires them. You are constantly creating unsafe working environments and therefore accidents by making your workers do extra hours or even overworking them, which is steadily killing off your workforce (the most valuable resource you have). Why are you so badly understaffed?

I really liked the new ship when I saw it on stream yesterday. I really like trading and space exploration, so if the new ship jumps well, I'll even fly it to explore. The appearance gives us something completely new, because these shapes of airplanes (Gutamaya) and triangles (Zorgon-Petersson) and various other geometric shapes are already very boring. It will be hard to wait for this beautiful toy.

they did such a good job here, love the new designs of their ships. Our current ones are cool but feel a bit dated compared to alot of sci-fi references, this one just nails it. Cant wait to use it, imagine if we could walk up that ramp to the cockpit.. (I know I know but id love that)

that feature would be as useless and unappreciated as it is in star citizen. but at least it would be in a functional game that runs well, so theres that.

It's a great looking ship. I am curious as to how they will make this a better medium trader than the Python Mk1. I think it needs to be able to carry more cargo to really shine, but that seems unlikely given the Pythons internal modules. Excited to see what the end product has to offer, but loving the look that's for sure. Could well become a great mining ship depending on hard points?

As for the hull depletion, your air locks are less effective at repairing the hull whne there are fewer leaks to find, so it makes sens that it could stabilize at a point that is neither fully repaired, nor completely destroyed.
@CMDRExorcist5 күн бұрын
Yeah, hull regeneration works better the lower the hull integrity. Makes sense because the workers would have more incentive to work harder. We open Section 3 soon and it makes a world of difference for repairs. This chapter (so far) goes much smoother than the previous one. :)
