Why do North Koreans try to flee the country ruled by their "beloved leader"? The few who manage to escape do so by sacrificing their families' welfares; the North Korean government exacts severe punishment on the families of those who leave. (See any South Korean news site for examples and first-hand experiences.) Diplomacy with North Korea today is similar to diplomacy with Adolf Hitler in the 1930's. (By the way: it's pronounced "Pyung-yahng", not "Pyung-yung.")
