Why you dismount the pin bolts ? Just the bracket bolts and take off all together. 👍🔧

Any reason you chose not to clean out the residue out of the valve cover? Also, are you sure that black RTV silicone is recommended for engines?

Black ultra silicone is good option .

That cover was nasty. Didn't clean a lot of residue anywhere else either. Seemed like a perfect opportunity.

@fixitquick I only asked because I just did a valve cover gasket job. I purchased the parts and I purchased the exact same black silicone. Same number that was on yours in the video. It states on the package not recommended for engines. I return it and exchanged it for RTV gray silicone which is rated for engines, and it even states for valve covers. I just wanted to mitigate any future issues.

Cleaning the valve cover and the camshafts is an option but there is a risk of leaving residues that could clog the oil ducts and damage the engine that happened to me a few years ago and I had to replace the engine 1300 US dollar for a honda civic since then my only option is leave it as it is

My question is how did you know it was the starter that was messed up. My car doesn’t want to start. I just swapped the battery. It’s still doesn’t turn on. I noticed it doesn’t crack either. Not sure if it’s the alternator or the starter

I checked it manually with my jumper cables positive cable on red cable and negative cable to solenoid. And also it was a click sound when we turned the key . I don’t think is your alternator because you swap your battery.

Great video. I did mine last week. Had to remove front seat to do it upside down. I didn't remove the black box because the wires wouldn't come out. Was such a pain. Only thing is how do I put the hood release cable back on?

@@shaunsfrench1942 p0303 and p0303 misfire in cylinder 3 and 6 check your ignition coils and spark plugs p1404 is the EGR If you remove the EGR check pipes make sure no carbon buildup I guess p0300 is for you EGR or air leak somewhere

I just spent about 3 hours trying to get mine off. I got every bolt except the small 12 mm on the bottom left near the alternator. I couldn't get a wrench to fit in that space. Had to order a flex ratchet from Amazon, hopefully it works.

So my girls car seems to struggel after 2nd gear, then jerks while acceleration after that. Code comes up as the sensor but thats been replaced, goes up to 3-4 thousand rpms but barely goes anywhere. Could this be the cat? Seems like the only thing left to do. Any help with this would be appreciated before I replace it, been to a mechanic and dealership and they couldn't pin point it just got the same code i did bank 1 sensor 1 low

Well, I think we're going to replace the CAT, I will keep you guys updated... I've already replaced the sensor and MAF. So if this doesn't do it It May be the end of the road for the camry. (Pun intended) and it's and 03 Camry just for record
