I sanded with 600 - 800 - 1000 and finally 1500. I then used Novus 2 scratch remover with a paper towel to hand buff and it came out great.

You may be new to this but your camera work is excellent. Some tutorials I’ve watched I’ve seen nothing it’s as if they were working under a table ! Just irritating talk!!! Well done you.

I used to use 3 in 1 for light oil, but it eventually builds up a residue, Marvel Mystery oil lubes and preserves will without caking up in the long run.

Seeing this is 5 years old now, I'm sure you have learned that you never switch the white wire...only the black wire. (Your neutrals always run uninterrupted to the fixture) hi

Hi, any chance you could tell me what the tool you use with the red handle is? You used it to define the stitching holes but said it don’t go all the way through. Perhaps it’s not a leather tool but something you repurposed? Thanks
@wornwizard5 ай бұрын
That tool is something I found in a flea market somewhere, after looking online a bit, I'm not sure exactly what it's called. Functionally, it's just like a punch for making stitching holes, but it's pliers with punch bits on each jaw, so when you squeeze the stitching groove you get a nice punch mark that's even on the front and back. You can use it to punch completely through. Hope that's the tool you means, it's been a few years since I made this so I'm trying to remember. Thanks for watching!

@@wornwizard thank you for such a fast response! Yes that was the tool and I think I have it based on your description-I’m new at this. Mine has different sized punch bits on a turning circle so to speak. Anyway I enjoyed how you made that cover and will use it as my guide.

I like your video a lot. I have lots of tumbled stones with weird shapes so I'm looking forward to giving your approach a go. Any hints on how I could get a bail or loop/hook at both ends of the stone so I could link them together (as for making a rainchain)?. Thanks.

I need one of those wood block things. I can think of a lot of uses for it. Right now I'm trying to wrap a raw, tanzanite gemstone, irregular shaped, I got at a gem show recently. Your video is great, getting all sorts of inspiration from it.
