More often than not, when I’ve won 1st place for 2 or 3 consecutive races, all of a sudden every Red/Green/Blue Shell, Banana, Bomb, and Boomerang is directed towards me. The AI is programmed to thwart your efforts at getting 3-Star cups. Otherwise, why does it become so much more aggressive when you’re acing races? What makes gaming fun is practicing to perfect your mistakes and get better at the game. That’s why defeating a boss is so satisfying, because it’s the culmination of hours of patience and resilience. When you introduce randomness into the equation, there’s no mountain to climb, it’s only a roll of the dice.

I definitely got the impression the developers started making the game before they knew how to end the story. There's so many loose ends that weren't wrapped up. Why was Delilah saying "he doesn't know anything" at the beginning and who was she talking to? How did Ned create so much high tech equipment just from snowmobile parts, especially the loud dinosaur sound heard by Henry? How do the two people writing letters back and forth in the caches connect witb the story?

I don't understand why Ned would act like a crazy saboteur for months only to suddenly reveal the truth in a quite sane, self-aware way. I think a final encounter with Ned where he accepts reality after talking to you and lets the forest fire consume him would've been a more satisfying ending. OR if you find out Delilah was actually his wife the entire time.

Personally, I think that Donkey Kong Country Returns is the best one because of the overall detail. I might be biased because I grew up playing DKCR but I still think it was the one that stuck out the most and it was the most enjoyable for me.
