I am moving toward no date watches. I don't actually consider any of my watches to be "tool" watches. They are all personal adornment. I take my watch off when peforming tasks that could cause damage. I am many years retired and don't particularly care what the date is. My wife of 45 years takes care of being my date minder in case of an appt.

The MR-G Squares feel lighter when wearing compared to the GMW Squares that are steel. The rubber MR-G, think its the MRG-B5000R feels very good I have to say perhaps even better than the MRG-B5000D/B on the bracelet. They both feel very good so it is more how they look on you. For me bracelets always seem to be my preference but the MR-G rubber is good.

@masterwatch Yeah, it's a real mixture of watches & complications that I've tried to find (within my budget). Moonphase (Omega Speedmaster) with Buzz Aldrins boot printed on it's photo realistic Moon. With a strong connection to the Moon Landings & George Daniels Master Watchmaker Co-Axial escapement. In my mind, the perfect Moonphase watch, as it looks to the future of Space travel. Rolex GMT Master 2 in my mind is the perfect Pilots Watch. Exactly the prestige of international travel and Worldwide brand recognition. Grand Seiko Snowflake the perfect casual dress example of a fusion between mechanical and quartz movement, for high accuracy horology. Truly genius design. Grand Seiko Tentagraph, a Racing 5 Hz highbeat Chronograph that has 10 beats per second, but isn't as 'manic' as looking at a Zenith el Primero. The Grand Seiko finishing and display caseback is lovely. Omega Seamaster divers watch, with a Chronograph you can use underwater and in the rain. With 'sword' hands linked to James Bond. Co-Axial escapement with 4 Hz accuracy and Helium Escape Valve. A perfect Diver watch. Cartier Santos ADLC another casual dress watch with formality, for all occasions. A.Lange & Söhne 1815... high horology dress watch for special occasions. G-Shock MRG watches for everything in-between. Perfect grab-and-go options.

@masterwatch My biggest dilemma was, do I skip the Luxury brands... and just go for one or two big hitters... like Patek or VC or AP But, my lifestyle is not 'luxury pampered' enough to be flexing those price level environments. So the Rolex, Omega, Grand Seiko, Cartier, MRG Level suits me perfectly. Comfortable with wearing them. The A.Lange & Söhne would be my Crown piece. Such a beautiful watch, and adds Germanic influence to the Swiss and Japanese collection. I'll have to leave the high horology pieces to those that can afford it.
@masterwatch11 күн бұрын
@@JustMeTalking you raise a very good point.. Value.. as these days if a person's life style does mean you knock your watch wearing a Patek or something in that price range is perhaps not such a good idea..
