I agree, I've been watching a few videos, this thing will climb. I'm looking at the six-seater, it comes with a lot of benefits. The CVT is built by a Canadian company, so that's a big plus, they've been in business for quite some time. To me it looks pretty solid.

Where is the heat coming from directly under your legs? I'm just curious, I'm looking at a four-seater and I'm thinking it might be a little different, but could be for the backseat passenger.

Hi, new subscriber here. Brilliant information. Recently bought an old 489 860. Would really love if you get the opportunity to do a similar run through an older machine for those of us trying to keep those older machines alive. Anything you are doing from sharpening blades through to full service like this would be really valuable. Thanks

Hey just curious. Is it possible to relocate the grease nipple to a more user friendly location (I’ve used air line with push fit fittings into small steel block manifolds) and if so could you start doing this as a matter of course whenever you repair these again in the future ?

The Man engines are quite easy if I’m honest, Luther than the fact is more cramped and has a few more cylinders the man is a very serviceable engines. Definitely friendly to work on compared to the Mercedes. As for the twin engines I have never had the opportunity, the kind of disappeared as quick as the came due to being far to expensive to run, but I have heard there is a chance the will be coming back over the next few years as Claas attempt to steal the record of biggest forager from Krone.

I got a Swiss Champ in 1993 as a 20th birthday gift for my own. Lost it 1999 during my military service time in Germany. Bought a Wave in 1999. The Wave was helping me in so many situations. I still loving the Gen1 Wave it is compact and nearly got anything you needed. It was a loyal companion to my all those years. Yes, because of the stupid "Waffengesetzt *42", I need to switch to a Victorinox Ranger.

I bought the Wave + from Blacks for 84 pounds (march 2023.) It is an absolute beast! I have also watched reviews stating that the Wave is too heavy. During the early 90s most people Would carry a mobile phone which would weigh approximately the same as the Wave + , and back then nobody moaned. It is Supposed to be a heavyduty multi tool, that is it's aimed purpose.Recently I purchased the Leatherman deep pocket carry clip for the Wave (5 pounds /Amazon) I sometimes forget that it's clipped to my pocket, proving that it's not an issue in weight. I totally understand and agree with the frustration of not being able to carry the multi tool in public but, I do a lot of business abroad and cannot afford to have a criminal conviction for carrying a knife under the offensive weapon act. Instead I have a Victorinox Alox farmer which I carry all the time, it is a UK legal pocket knife and the law states a person does not need to give a good reason why they are carrying a blade which is under 3inches and non locking.
@Teredifa
@Teredifa Жыл бұрын
Completely agree its a heavy duty tool and I hardly notice it in my pocket. What's more is it has literally become the most used tool I own and has probably saved me countless hours getting a tool from the van or tool box. Leatherman make a version for the German market which requires two hands to open the knife but still locks and that satisfies our weapons laws, I just Don't wish to comply with a law that does nothing more than punish hard working individuals whilst doing nothing to control criminals. I can buy a 12" kitchen knife no questions asked and carry it in my bag on the pretence that I am meeting a friend to cook or even buy and walk through town with a chainsaw but carrying a multitool is where our criminal justice system draws the line :D crazy times. Thanks for watching!

Hey great video I’m really appreciating just how much we get to see with you. I don’t know of another KZfaq mechanic who would put in as much effort as you! Just one question, do you ever take oil samples on your jobs to look for hidden damage to internals?
@Teredifa
@Teredifa Жыл бұрын
Thanks allot! As for oil samples we don't actually take samples, One reason is most of the machinery doesn't generally get run to the point that we start planned wear precautions. Our choppers and combines at home will likely never see more than 4000hrs so we kind of just expect a motor to run those hours without major wear. As for at work it is something I have been thinking about since the drastic rise in oil price. But mainly for things like self propelled feeder wagons that receive 400l of Dextron 2 every 1000 hours. at around 7euros per L. Oil analysis could help us possibly run the oils much longer. Other than that I am interested to see if I could learn more about my job by using such samples.
@daveR0berts
@daveR0berts Жыл бұрын
I understand, the only time I have regularly sampled oils is when I looked after the the hire and maintenance on several large generators. It was very useful for deciding if and when to move a machine on and get another new one. Having a mechanical issue with those particular generators in their setting was not an option. I could really see the benefits of checking the S P feeder as that’s well over €3000 just there in the hydraulic oil! The information break down you get back is actually pretty fascinating.
@Teredifa
@Teredifa Жыл бұрын
Yeah I have seen others do sampling and when you know what you’re looking at and for you can tell what parts of a machine have wear problems or are likely to fail. I’ll definitely try it out and get a video on it in the future.

Nice to see someone reviewing a Ledlenser, even if they are a bit behind. For your usecase I'd absolutely recommend upgrading to a better medium sized light with more output and runtime and better UI and features.
@Teredifa
@Teredifa Жыл бұрын
I do like the light, for me it has more to do with the price and compatibility more than anything else. It makes enough light to make useable in most situations, is compact enough to always carry and it’s not too expensive that I will have a heart attack if I loose it 😂 However it does lack a lot of features that I would like to have and the quality of the battery might be a big problem for me. Do you have any recommendations what else I could try? I would definitely like to see how the ledlenser stacks up to other lights.

I assume it’s a forage wagon (LT7) because of the pickup on the front but does it normally have greedy boards for that and is it’s use as a grain chaser what it is normally used for as well? Like a multi purpose machine 🤔
@Teredifa
@Teredifa Жыл бұрын
The LT7 was mainly marketed as a self propelled forager for the smaller scale farmers mainly in southern Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Northern Italy. but was also designed to be a systems machine with thing such as a muck spreader available as well as other things. If you look closely it has a cutter bar on the front and a small set of knives that be mechanically folded in to cut heavy crops making it more suitable for livestock consumption. Chiefly it was designed so that fresh forage could be brought to the cows each day using just one machine.

Is that an ingersol rand socket driver? How does it compare to snap on / Milwaukee?
@Teredifa
@Teredifa Жыл бұрын
Its terrible by all accounts. It lost its torque so fast that you have a job cracking 200NM off these days and sometimes it just freezes because it thinks you have activated a torque setting and the only way to unfreeze it is to slap it about step dad style, oh yeah and the anvil screeches. The next thing is i hate different battery types and after years of promising so much IR have literally only 3 tools. So being around the same price as the Milwaukee im just waiting for it to die now and Ill invest big in the 3/4 big lad a 1/2 and a 3/8s compact from Milwaukee.
@daveR0berts
@daveR0berts Жыл бұрын
I can recommend Milwaukee especially if you go all in on a specific battery. I have the m18 grinder, drill, mid torque, hi torque, grease gun, band saw and die grinder then I have m12 drill, mid torque, band saw, polisher-grinder, soldering iron, multi tool, chop saw, drill driver, ratchet, band file, sheet metal nibbler, rivet gun and all sorts of lighting. Used to have snap on until most of it got nicked out the truck and I couldn’t afford to buy it again. Started with the Milwaukee socket driver and grinder and was impressed enough to keep buying it. I love my battery charger that you can plug into your vehicles 12v socket. It’s a slow change but it’s useful keeping batteries topped up while in the field.
@Teredifa
@Teredifa Жыл бұрын
@@daveR0berts Yeah I defo think Milwaukee is the way I will be going. snap on don't offer a big enough variety of tools and it can be difficult getting them on the yard especially if its to warranty tools. These days snap on battery tool warranty is also shorter than Milwaukee as well.
@daveR0berts
@daveR0berts Жыл бұрын
@@Teredifa yup. The problem is that they were too late changing from nickel metal hydride batteries to lithium and the market share wouldn’t be worth the research and development of a large product line because everyone is now Milwaukee / dewalt / makita etc Plus there are a lot of people similar to me who like to have mechanic and construction tools. So with snap on if you wanted to do some fabrication or construction work you’d need a different manufacturer for your band files, circ saws, nail guns or whatever. I do still like my snap on spanners, sockets and pliers though!
