Everyone should share this PSA on the car forums. I bought them from Amazon thinking I got some nice terminals for a fair price. They corroded so freakin' fast, and I think the added resistance of the corrosion combined with the sub-par conductivity [of aluminum] is what killed the regulator in my '93 Festiva's original alternator. Sure, it could have been on the way out, but it made it 30 years right up until I installed these terminals 😖

My brother in Christ, i picked up that right angle milwaukee die grinder from cornwell about three weeks ago. I'm a professional mechanic. I then ordered the straight milwaukee die grinder from amazon for about $140. I use the straight one SO many times. I also got 1/4 carbide burr bits from amazon for $30 and they work great with these grinders. Some examples from me in only the last two weeks are using the carbide bits to widen my pilot holes to accept my "hyperstep drill bits" to drill through/destroy exhaust bolts. Another example was using carbide bits to repair a broken honda camshaft sprocket tool that broke to get the timing job done. Today, i used the carbide bits and the straight die grinder to help deburr a Nissan frontier spindle caliper bolt holes because someone damaged it prior... So far, i've used the straight one MANY times. The right angle i used once to help clean a honda 3.5 waterpump surface but honestly, a razor blade works better i think. anyways, im subscribed brother! Just wanted to share my recent experience with these milwaukee die grinders. So far, the straight die grinder is the one thats been used ALOT in my situations. Thank you!

@@icandothat905 Mars-Rock 1/4 carbide burrs. By the way, my advice when using carbide burrs is to run them very fast! Try the max speed setting. They will do the work quickly but dont let them get too hot. On that exhaust bolt i ran it for about four seconds and it was smoking but it did the work and actually threw out the bolts revealing the threads of the manifold which i repaired with a thread chaser... awesome tools! Better than dropping$200-$350 on the tool truck for carbide burrs. we'll see about longevity in due time. Today i used the right angle grinder with a roloc to help clean rust off a hub and had a wire wheel on the straight one to help clean the hubs during a brake job. I throw a wheel hub/lug stud cleaner adapter on my milwaukee drill too. Can do a professional brake job very fast! Good tools to have.

I own the same model. Worked great out of box. The stock chain dulls out really quickly. Also the rubber used for the fuel line does not hold up and will end up leaking. Therefore the leaking fuel won't allow the unit to run. So, with this in mind, and having to address these issues, my saw now works again. I replaced the blade and bar with an Oregon equivalent btw.

@icandothat905 3 ай бұрын
Heavy is a term to describe a 16th of an inch. So if I’m cutting trim and I need a really tight fit, if my measurement is a little above 3/8” then you’d say 3/8” heavy. Most imperial tape measures have 16th marks but it’s impractical to say 7/16ths. You can also just go metric and never need to utter this phrase at all.

Can’t really expect much. $500 is change compared to what a blast cabinet for a shop runs. These units are hobbyist units. I’d take that unit the way it is more than the one I was shipped by another company with all bent panels form shipping. Sent it back and ordered the Eastwood. If it does indeed ship built, I have no complaints with packaging.
@steveobrien8792
@steveobrien8792 6 ай бұрын
So Packaging and Shipping issues aside I have to say that it still looks like a better cabinet than the the harbor freight option. I have to say that I really like the top mount lid verses the side opening that the HF unit has. I didn't realize that there was that much difference between the eastwood option and the HF option. That being said I recently went with the a Barrel Blaster cabinet made out of a 55gal barrel. They packed it very well compared to how eastwood does it but I have also needed to Upgrade a lot of things right off the bat. like the trigger on the gun it came with is very difficult to operate with the gloves so I had to order a triggerless gun with a foot pedal. Then it came with a flood light mounted on the right hand side. It works ok for small items but if you put something in there that takes up 30-40% of the space then you start having issues with it throwing shadows so I had to order a new lighting system to install in there. And finally the viewing window is plexiglass with a plastic stick on / tear-off protector. It started getting scratched up with in minutes of use, so I had to go buy a piece of glass from the hardware store. It wasn't a cheap cabinet but man I feel like I have needed to make a lot of mods after the fact to bring it up to a certain level of quality. I hope once you have had it for a while and get over the shock of the initial assembly that you enjoy it.

Thanks for the comment; I've been working on a review of this for some follow up context and a big issue I have is I don't actually know how it compares to the HR in terms of quality (since I don't have one), so speaking to what you get for your money is hard. Good to know it's better than what HR offers. I have similar complaints to everything you said. It feels like for this to be a "really good" cabinet I need all the same changes. Which, at a similar price point to the barrel blaster, you really shouldn't have to do in my opinion. Overall I'm really happy with this model, but looking at the barrel blaster the media pan is much deeper, I have issues with needing to bang on the side of the b40 model. I have seen reviews of the b60 where this isn't such a problem. What kind of air compressor are you running on the barrel blaster?

@@icandothat905 I have a Craftsman 1.9 running HP Oiled compressor making 7.2 SCFM @ 40 psi and 5.8 SCFM @ 90 psi. (IT IS NOT ENOUGH!!!) I'm so afraid that I'm going to Burn out the Pump at any Minute. I just watched a video who said that the 7 CFM gun that they give with these units is actually on 7 CFM @ 12psi. when you run it at the recommended 70 psi its actually 21-22 CFM. In case your interested the video title is "It's Not 7 CFM". I may purchase one of their 12 CFM guns down the line as they are a bit pricey but seems to be the lowest cfm option available. I saw another video where a guy mounted a computer fan perpendicular to the back side of the media pan/collector and cut off one of the blades so that it would vibrate the media down to the bottom. This mod may help you in your situation. I don't remember the name of that video though. Another thing that you might want to look at is getting a Filter/water separator. I got one from harbor Freight that is a regulator and filter that I mounted to the side of my cabinet. It keeps the moisture out of the media and also lets me regulate the PSI going into the cabinet. I've been messing around with lowering the psi down to 60 and 50psi to see if it will help give my compressor a break.
@icandothat905
@icandothat905 6 ай бұрын
I’ve never seen the water separator that’s great I am definitely going to get one, as well as a foot pedal. Genius putting a vibrator on the pan too; these are good upgrades. I was thinking of led strips to replace the lights I am not sure if they will hold up to the media though. Still doing some research on that. I have been using the smallest nozzle on my gun, I honestly forget what its flow rate is but with my 2.5 running around 7 cfm stays at 80psi in use. With aluminum oxide I don’t have any issues running out of air. Though the compressor runs pretty much non-stop. I got the compressor on facebook marketplace for like $100 so I don’t care if the engine burns out. If I have to replace it I was thinking of a two stage compressor, but I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

@@icandothat905So the unit I got from Harbor freight was the MERLIN 3/8 in. NPT(F) Air Filter with Regulator. They have a 1/2 inch and a 14 inch option as well. I went with the 3/8s option because the 1/4 inch unit looked anemic. It says its an air filter but if you read the description it says that it filters out water molecules down to 40 Microns. I heard somewhere that the farther away from the compressor that you placed the separator the more time the water molecules have to condense improving the efficiency of the separator so I mounted mine on the blast cabinet and that's where I connect the air hose when I hook up to the cabinet. That way the air has to go through all 25 or 50 feet of the hose before it gets to the separator. I live in Florida and are Humidity level is always rated at "Ocean" so this thing puts in some work and the proof is when I hit that drain valve in the bottom after using the cabinet it blasts a nice puddle onto the floor. I also saw another video where a guy was modding his harbor freight cabinet and he replaced the lights with an LED kit from Home depot. Its 2X 2ft LED strips that sit in tubes and a separate ballast unit. The Strips and the ballast are magnetic so you don't have to drill through the cabinet to mount them. He mounted one on top of the viewing window and one below the viewing window. He has been running them for over a year now. I reached out to him the other day and he said that they were still working flawlessly. So I ordered a set online because I couldn't find a local store that carried them and I'm waiting for them to arrive now. The ends of the tubes are open so I'm thinking that I'm going to close them up with a hot glue gun or something. If you go onto home depots website you search: Dual 2 ft. 34-Watt Equivalent Integrated LED White Strip Light Fixture Magnetic Linear LED Troffer Retrofit Kit 4000K I figure when I go to pick them up I will also grab a glass window pain to replace the lexan/plexi stuff.

However, per DeVillBiss manual: "After the water has been drained, close the drain valve (clockwise). The air compressor can now be stored"

These are useful to have when you eat corn on the cob, and it gets stuck in your teeth.

Thanks for the video! If you get a minute can you tell me the dimensions of the base and the top part, and the height of the whole thing? I'm hoping to purchase one and figuring out if it will fit on my workbench.

Sorry, missed this comment - the base is 16" x 9.75", overall height is 37" and the overall depth is about 22" (had to eyeball it) from the back of the motor to the table (not extended).

I can't believe you aren't going to opt for welding the doors on, the hood shut and the spare tire on as well! 😂 Looking forward to future episodes... subscribed!
