The former narcissists in my life, including a groomer ex, the flying monkey friends and enablers, and coworkers, thrived on divide and conquer as a strategy. Power and control via alienating me from others was definitely their modus operandi. It takes a lot of time and resolve to really come down and say No by cutting them off. Even if I am the one who got away, I wear it proudly because I can now heal and live my life in God instead of having to compromise my values as a Christian and son of God.

Now all of sudden, ALL of the politicians i helped campaign for are acting funny and they are suddenly unsupportive. Im seeing now that they all used me. It wasnt genuine. Great advice ,I have some people like that now,even CLOSE family members. I have to keep them at a distance. Thanks for clearing that up. With anybody you felt uncomfortable around even if that uncomfortable feeling goes away, i still keep them at a safe distance. Some people are nice and gifting to you just because they want you to let your guard down just so they can cause you problems later; I had it happen to me.

Exactly how I have felt. I've been quiet. But it's really hard. I guess being humble is a netter place to be than to raise my voice and be silenced, better to be lifted up when the time is right than the latter I guess... but ugh
