Love all your videos & your sense of humor. I wonder if there's something else one could use instead of playdough, something that wouldn't need to be washed out afterwards. Even better would be a material that would retain its integrity after contact with the hot glue. (First thought: hot glue! Uh, no . . . ). I wonder if someone who already had a metal seal (stamp) could press it into the hot glue and have it come away clean? I guess you'd need to leave it in the glue until the glue had hardened, in which case the seal would be stuck. But what if one coated the seal in petroleum jelly? Are there substances which prevent hot glue from adhering to surfaces? Wax? Silicone of course . . . .
@LilaHanft3 күн бұрын
I found an answer to my question about metal seals in another crafter's video: Apparently if the metal seal is ice cold when it touches the wax, it won't become permanently embedded in the glue.
@Randomona2 күн бұрын
Thank you! ☺️ I found this video where someone uses polymer clay to make their stamps: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pMp4otijm7nVcoU.htmlsi=EIMPcKI0jzCjnUte That tip about using ice cold metal is great to know! I think in general, metal stamps work well because there is wax mixed into the hot glue. I have seen people brush wax onto things so that hot glue doesn't stick to them. www.instructables.com/The-Secret-to-a-Perfect-Hot-Glue-Mold/

Beautiful. Can't wait to try this. I had just searched if you could use nail polish on aluminum foil. You answered my question. I never considered clear polish though. Can't wait to try this.

Which clear polishes? Mine didn’t do that….they clumped especially the ones that said gel like.
@Randomona17 күн бұрын
Okay, interesting.. Are the nail polishes possibly older ones? Some people say that newer ones work better It could also be the temperature of the water - apparently, it shouldn't be too cold It could also have been too much nail polish I can only suggest trying a different nail polish, it should work with a cheap and basic one
@lchapman932416 күн бұрын
@@Randomona No, they were new. 1 was gel like, 1 was quick dry, not sure about the other 3. The water container should’ve plastic?
@Randomona16 күн бұрын
I see.. the container should not make a difference I believe, but it is possible that you were unlucky with the nail polishes. Gel nail polish and quick drying ones may be different in some way.

Does it work on recycled glass botões?

If the glass is smooth, the effect may not be very strong.. it would probably come out more in dark bottles. I'm not sure all in all how well it would work, but it's worth a try!

If you microwave the glue/starch mixture for around 2-5 Minutes (needs to be wetter) you will get a more stiff and semi translucent clay. (For a more detailed description, look for Cold Porcelain- Heated)

I'd use bookfoil. cut a square, but the pictures in, place the other bit of foil on the back and cut the shape out. It is not 100% waterproof, so you can't wash it with water and soap, but it is decently protected against it's environment or any damp air.
