This storyline took a piece of my soul. I had a very good, close friend in middle school who had HIV. We rarely thought of it because we were just kids and he was mostly so vital. When he died it broke the heart of every kid in thst school. It was happening alongside this storyline, too, so it really meant so much to me to see GH showing the world the reality and truth of what HIV/AIDS is. Thank God above we've come such a long way since then. You know, Joey had an incredibly loving, fiercly overprotective older brother, too. He never tried hiding his love for him. Never! It was beautiful, and I truly hope Jo knew how adored he was while on this good earth

Sonny and Carly showed more passion then Brenda and Sonny. Brenda always showed like she was doing him a favor. They were BORING together. Sonny married Carly because as he said there was love and he finally had a home with a family to love He wasn't feeling that with Brenda. As you see I'm not a Brenda fan. Sonny may have told Brenda he loved her but he wasn't in love with her. There was a difference he felt. With Carly he said he finally had a home, a family, and real love. Didn't feel that with Brenda. Sonny and Carly belong together. Brenda stay with Jax. Good match!, BORING.

Sonny was trying so hard not to show his jealousy but that look at the end, he wanted to be Jax in that moment. I'm not a huge Jax fan but this was when the playing field began to be leveled. It was no longer Sonny rubbing Lily in Brenda's face with no recourse. I think Brenda knew the power she and Jax had over Sonny and Sonny knew that Jax was a legit threat because he was exactly who ppl expected Brenda to be with.

Gosh Lily was so annoying every time she walked through the door. She hovered around Sonny knowing how Sonny really felt. I hated how the writers tried writing Sonny like he actually was in-love with her years later.

Nedly started off so good....then he did an Edward and put his foot in his mouth.....and he paid for it with that speech off from Brenda.....and the "once you love sonny" remark from Lois was icing on the cake.....Ned was an idiot.

I was about 12 when this aired. It was then, and still is, the most innocent, beautiful and heartbreaking storyline I have EVER seen on TV. Michael Sutton was robbed of an Emmy. This was breathtaking. The only other scene that comes close is when Tony Jones died and saw BJ come for him. Absolutely gut wrenching and beautiful.

I remember when I found out the day Stone was going to die, I put in for PTO, because that storyline was so important and I didn't want to miss it. They don't make soaps like this anymore and that's sad!! RIP Stone Cates 😢❤
