Thanks for the review. Just one suggestion, please fix audio for future videos. It’s very low at some points like in the beginning and cuts out as you go through explaining. Thanks

I love the knife. I have both sizes. My only problem is sharpening them. I use the Tandy sharpening jig to sharpen and the BK blades don't fit. I bought a Big Red Swivel Knife blade sharpener and the BK blades don't fit that either. I tried sharpening them without a jig and I'm a pitiful blade sharpener without something to hold the blade at a constant 30 degrees. Got my grandson in law to drill a bigger hole in the Big Red and now the only swivel knifes that I use are the BK ones.

This is beautiful! I love your work! I am just starting out and have a bunch of questions if you would be so kind to help? What is the tool your shaving the leather with and why, what is the tool called at 1:45, what thickness is your leather, did you wet it before tracing the letters on?, what kind of paper transfer the best for the least amount of money (for now), what did you attach as backing, what kind of brass punch is that at the end , and what size thread do you use?

Thank you for this review. There is very little info on the specs for BK swivel knives and I’m getting ready to finally order one. There is no where local for me to go and physically get my hands on one to try out the options.

Very nicely done! What weight leather did you use? When you do a lined collar what weights of leather do you use for the outside and what weight for the inside? I just subscribed too!

I want to make a collar and am wondering if you need to use any sealants or stains on the inside of it
@browndogleatherco80503 жыл бұрын
I don't usually. Most of the time I use 2 pieces of leather stitched together. It helps keep it sealed and adds a significant amount of strength. This particular collar I didn't do that. It really depends on what the customer wants.

@lilyv57703 жыл бұрын
amazing work! what exactly tools did you use?
@browndogleatherco80503 жыл бұрын
For the tooling mostly tandy pro bevelers. The strap cutting I use a standard strap cutter from tandy as well. To cut the collar from the hide itself I use just a regular x-acto knife with a Z blade.

Wow. Great work. I started doing leather craft recently because of COVID. And I also have a dog that I wanted to make a collar for. Do you have a source to by the buckles for the dog collars? I would like to make more than one?
@browndogleatherco80503 жыл бұрын
I usually by my buckles from country brook designs. They are a little more expensive but they are high quality buckles. You can also find a good deal on ebay from time to time.
