Why do I feel like still well knew that black no war was really behind everything
@paytonkraft75644 күн бұрын
Honestly, the fact that Stillwell is such a coldhearted SoB easily makes him the most dangerous character. Homelander's a psycho with superpowers and a god complex, but he can still die. Butcher's a ruthless diabolical bastard, but he's the kind you can understand the motives behind, even if he's basically a british punisher with a crowbar. Stillwell? He's neither. No powers, no chip on his shoulder, not even the slightest reaction beyond cold detachment. Man's survived the whole series and won by being the only one with his head screwed on straight.

@randomdeinternet35826 күн бұрын
He didn't do anything, Black Noir was acting by himself without any Vought employee helping, but Stillwell still won because homelander never did anything remarkable in his final moments, he never became more than a bad product that James was just tired to see doing the same generic psychopath actions instead of something actually original or at least amusing

Stillwater’s evil is scarier than Homelander’s. He’s absolutely apathetic towards everything. He’s a billionaire with more influence than any superhuman and he almost seems numb to it all. Like even if Homelander did kill him he’d barely raise an eyebrow. I don’t think he cares about the morality of anybody, he just goes along cause he’s mildly curious and doesn’t see suicide as an interesting option. The true psychopath.

I hope season 5 has a scene similar to this with Homelander and Stan. With Homelander having finally snapped and overthrown the government and then goes to brag about his accomplishments to Stan only to Stan to make a badass speech about how no matter what Homelander does, Stan will always win, causing Homelander to spare Stan out of spite.
@cameronrhodes110118 күн бұрын
There's some person that Homelander constantly loses too, His powers make him a literal, God, among men and yet the man with no power constantly gets under his skin and gets the better of him through nothing but his words and attitude.
@evansheehan925820 күн бұрын
Stillwell made a really good point: Homelander had power like no man has ever had, and he did what countless men have already done before with it, so generic it’s almost disappointing.
@geronimozarza849518 күн бұрын
And also he seems to be nihilistic or something like that, so he believes life is meaningless and has no energy to live, he just does it because suicide is also pointless. And that thing ironically makes him inmune to Homelander's intimidation, which makes him impossible to kill. Homelander is also unable to impress him because, obviously, Homelander is just a spoiler brat with superpowers, nothing really original.
@maylabrown45848 күн бұрын
@@geronimozarza8495 He isn't nihilistic or anything like that, he's realistic which is what ends up causing his insanity later on as he can't cope with the truths of the World anymore. Supes are a Bad Product.

@KahinAhmed7210 күн бұрын
@@Qartlos Has it ever been explained why he doesn't kill those specific people?
@Qartlos10 күн бұрын
@@KahinAhmed72 because he looks up to those people rather than look down on. And even though he might hate them, he tries to prove something to them. For example, he wanted to prove Stan Edgar that he can be more valuable than him and that Stan is nothing. He sees a fear as a win that he is now dominating. And when he is thinking he doesn’t need to impress you and that you are just a tool, he won’t care about your life.
@Qartlos10 күн бұрын

Ironically, at this point, the only thing that Homelander could have done that would have genuinely surprised and impressed Stillwell is the one thing no supe in his world ever does: Be an actual superhero. IE, actually use your powers to help people. Stop crimes, help in disaster areas, fuckin save a cat that's stuck up a tree. You know, Superman stuff. All the things the public thinks he does and what they advertise him to do. But he's so brainwashed and predictable, that was never going to happen.

@XSilver_WaterX18 күн бұрын
Mostly because he sees literally everything as numbers. Stillwell is a deconstruction or bootleg version of Calander Man, he has emotions and can process them, but what value can he get with them, his head; nothing.
@Guciom16 күн бұрын
@@XSilver_WaterX Not really. Still well is supposed to be the 90's comic book industry in the form of a person.
@gabrielaubry133414 күн бұрын
@@Guciom I think it's more appropriate to call Stillwell the embodiment of the worst parts of corporate capitalism, from comics and movies to arms manufacturing: seeing everything as a means to an end, regardless of the consequences to oneself or others. If anything threatens that, they just cut their losses and remove it, like Vought did with the G-Men, and what Stillwell did after Homelander's coup failed.
@Supperdude97 күн бұрын
That's correct. He was convinced by Black Noir that he was only capable of doing heinous things. If he had survived, he would have learned that he was set up from the beginning into going down this route, and that he was only going to lose. He never once tried to become more than that. He never chose to rise above what he was fooled into thinking he was. And that's why he could never be a super hero.
