No - the tail is correct. FCI-Standard N° 179 Braque du Bourbonnais says TAIL: Some dogs (not all) are born naturally without a tail. If this is not the case, the tail should be docked at its base. It is set rather low. In countries where docking is illegal (f.ex Europe), the long tail should be carried below the topline when the dog is standing.

it is not a german shorthair pointer but a french shorthair pointer. It was saved from disappearing after WW2 by Michel Comte and Jean-Paul Buot in the Benigousse Breeding Farm.
