That was the greatest content I’ve ever seen or read about the needs of being a user researcher. Apart from your knowledge, confidence and charismatic personality, you were so prepared for what you wanted to say and how to convey your message. I’ve been working for 13 years in different marketing team. However in whole years, I was doing user researching tasks based on my personal passion. Now it’s around 6 months that I’ve decided to be fairly independent in user researching. Thus, your last question for me was a bog and confident “YES” are you these three? 😊 I know many methodologies in ux designing and researching. However my quantitative techniques is a lil bit not so great. I know that and I’m working on every single quality I should have to get a great job in this field. And last but not least, surely your channel will be my first and the most important one to collect data and utilities your knowledge. Thank you. Be safe

Ahh, thank you! Really nice to read your msg. Quant research can be more of a challenge, let's see if I can produce a new video on the topic -- just need to find the time. And best of luck in your work transition!

Do you think this applies for recruiters hiring UXR interns as well? Thank you so much for the video, it really cleared up some things I've been wondering myself!
@uxinthehead

While the focus with this video was more towards mid / senior roles, many of the same principles would apply when hiring interns -- possibly the diff would be more emphasis on potential, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn

I love your content soooooo much. Please keep making more content. Do you have a website or course? The way you teach is fantastic! I am currently starting user interviews at my company. I come from sociology, anthropology background and recently certified in coding but the why behind what makes products great fascinates me and I think UX research allows me to dive deeper into the whys behind why people like or don’t like soemthing. I’m excited to keep learning. Hope to see more of you on KZfaq! ❤

Which branch of Psychology is required for a UX Researcher ? Is it enough to pursue HCI for a UX Researcher role ? I am a web app front end developer and would like to know what other skills are required to become a UX Researcher.
@uxinthehead
@uxinthehead 7 ай бұрын
Let's start with a bit of a disclaimer: while psychology can be helpful, there are many paths into UX research. HCI and fields like anthropology/sociology also provide strong foundations, so that could be a direction to take. Having said that, keep in mind: your knowledge as a developer should also give you some extra insights.

This is very informative. I agree the video can help employers hire the best amongst the best employees in the future. However, on the candidate's side, it is more difficult for them to get hired. They need to showcase their past work, unfortunately, not everyone is blessed with opportunities like that so they need to find ways to make themselves stand out. But generally, in the end, both the employers and the candidates will benefit from the method, and the experience that they gain will give them confidence in the future.

Such an important video. I started designing websites and looking for a framework but, i found that i have to make some design choices which i was doing unintentionally. Now i have to keep in mind what a visitor expects when he lands on the website. Forget dribbble. I also found that developers making stunning templates but they are confusing. I think that the purpose of a website is directional, so that a visitor can make a decision easily. The design shall not be something which will make visitors mind struggling to find the information. Kudos to you.
