Rule of thumb; if i can't stop in time for a car that moves and didnt see mee > i go to fast for the situation. "Yeah but the car driver has to look out and can't move from one lane to another". That car doesnt have a family waiting for him at home. The car driver wil walk away. You're the only real victim.

Illegal. You're not to ride more than 10 mph faster than the traffic around you if this is in CA. Anywhere else it's illegal no matter what speed you're riding.

@@KepsStore It is ONLY SPECIFICALLY legal in CA in the states. In Montana you can only split if traffic is moving 10 mph or slower. All other states have a law similar to "drive as close as possible to the center of your lane." Bikers can get cited for reckless driving, improper lane change, or failure to use turn signals. A few states allow filtering, but that's not what this is.
