I know this video is old but I am an adult and my adult sister has suffered for years with undiagnosed mental health issues. She refuses to get help but there are signs. It didn't help that my father refused to acknowledge that she has mental health issues. I could not understand why my sister always hated me. She bullied me for years but it reached its height when we were in our 20's. I thought it was sibling rivalry. I started researching it because I noticed how crazy my sister would act sometimes by following me around and invading my personal space. She ruins every holiday and celebration like my birthday and I thought it was narcissism. But in my own research, I found that OCD sufferers do have obsessions with siblings and it explains a lot. Knowing this has helped in some ways is helpful but after suffering her bahviour for years it's also bitter. She was abusive and I internalized that because I didn't know any better. It's like I see the light and realize it wasn't me now but it was a little too late in life to discover this. Oh if you're wondering how I know she has OCD, well she has compulsions and does rituals... She has hoarding issues and there's just some behaviours that are getting worse.

@@ChrisBaier and yes i can tell a hell lot about ocd . how the condition is in real India? Kajal is from bangalore...thats kind of the most aware city as far as mental health is concerned. But in real India....situation is very very different.

@@ChrisBaier i guess we all can come together and create a solid platform for generating awareness regarding this debilitating illness. May be people from india can come together on a common platform...especially the teenagers of India.....something like a meet up where they can share their struggles. Thats my aim of life....to create awareness....let them know they are not alone.

Abhishek Prakash yes. A lot needs to be done, across the world and in each country, to get people suffering with OCD the right help. Even in the US there are many areas that don’t have therapists and the cost of treatment is astronomical. Even in NYC we had to travel 90 minutes by train for therapy.

It’s driving to anxiety and then to depression, it is really can affect all the life and big feeling of worry and anxiety because the feeling of always will lose someone or Something negative will happen to you anytime. It’s hard to overcome that’s wild feelings. Is it anyway to treat anxiety beside the medication like lexapro?
@ChrisBaier5 жыл бұрын
This the "gold standard" of OCD treatment: Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). You can also look for a therapist that does Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT).
