What is that ugly 'light pyramid'? Is it 'art' like the concrete cows? Why does MK hate the natural world and anything organic so much? Why concrete over that little 'hill' ... was it always a hillock or is it artificial?
@magdavrabetz
@magdavrabetz Ай бұрын
Honestly, I am not sure what is the purpose of the light pyramid 😂 I'm sure it has something to do with the sunlight moving along but I defo had higher expectations before seeing it 🤣 In that location, I guess they could have gone for something a little more "majestic", even if it's artificial...

Never use Google Maps for driving in the entire Balkans region. They are not precise and will mislead you regarding the quality of roads and possibility of actually using them or crossing borders. I mean all of the Balkans, Romania included. I use only Garmin maps. I also have Garmin sat-nav. They are the most reliable ones.

Happened to me. Traveling from Hungary to Ukraine with my camper. Google navigation took me to border crossing for local population. I had to drive around 50 km to international border crossing low on fuel. No gas station on the way. In desperation i used cooking oil to finish the trip. Fortunately, camper had diesel engine and run without problem.

4:41 This Belgrade "Sebilj fountain" was a gift from Sarajevo to Belgrade in 1989, as a remander of the cultular and historical ties of these two cities. Zagreb, Paris, Rome and Novi Pazar received the same gifts. This one from the photo is from Sarajevo. This is not Belgrade. :)

It's little too much to expect that she's familiar with Serbo-Croatian fully phonetic alphabet, where each single letter represents one (and always the same) certain sound, i.e. that serbian letter "c" always stands for sound [tz] (while "s" for sound [s] and "k" for sound [k] ), since she's probably not even aware of the details of her surname. "Vrabetz" is a transkription of slovakian "vrabec" or serbian "vrabac", which is a word for sparrow 🐦, a correctly done transcription to english/german alphabet, in order to preserve the right sound of it (since "c" in Vrabec - as it most probably was written in it's original form - would be pronounced as [k], hence as "vrabek").

so may i ask you.... you made all this fuss as you did not planned it good? In every country there are some laws which you need to respect.. i am sure there is no country in Europe that would let you cross the border unofficially so apologize but i see this as your fault. I am glad cause you had some nice time, and personally i do travel a lot, so unplanned things are happening everywhere.. But tears cause you could not pass where you wanted? a little bit too much.

Appreciate 🙏 When I think about it now, it was not worth the drama but when it happened I was absolutely mortified to drive back as this was a massively steep road in the middle of nowhere and I knew I'd be driving back to the same town I came from for over an hour with little fuel and possibly burnt breaks... There were only a handful of cars that I saw so I just had the worst scenario in my head 😅I guess it was just one of these moments that overwhelmed me and it was my first travel, and I was alone. I learnt from it and it is absolutely part of the process :)

You can only cross the border at official border crossings, but there will always be these local border crossings that are meant for local populations who live alongside the border and they have special permits. They're not meant for transit traffic. This is true for all Europe, except in Schengen you obviously don't see that anymore. I also recommend to keep a 5l canister of petrol in your van at all time for emergencies like this one. If you have time you should also plan ahead and find local garages, road assistance, hospitals etc. phone numbers as you never know when you might need it.
