Well, 1lb of your weight is 3000-3500 kcal depending on how you calculate. You will need to be negative about 150,000 kcal to lose 48lb. It means you need to be about 800 kcal in deficit *every day* for 6 months. What helped me personally is doing interval fasting and cardio for 45 minutes in the morning about every single day. 2400 kcal a day is obviously too much, you will need to cut that to 2000 give or take. Eat at least 0.4 gram of protein per lb of your weight daily, it'll help with satiety. That is slightly less than a pound of chicken breast or 5% beef throughout a day, a quality shake will also count. Don't forget about 30 grams of fiber and plenty of water. Best of luck!

I agree with Nommet. Cut more calories. Also, sometimes heavier weight makes your muscles swell with more glycogen and water, so that makes it harder to lose weight. But it’s still an important part of health so keep it up.

What about 300 calories of popcorn for a week plus a veggie (celery, carrots, snap peas), then 200 and veggie, then 100 and veggie then just snack on veggies?

A friend of mine talked me into running a half marathon 15 years ago. I hated it but there were all these people in their 60s who finished in half the time I did. So I decided someday I was going to be as fast as them lol

@@Matt_Bod I'm about the same weight as you are now, started about 2 months ago and already lost about 20 pounds. I was trying to run, but it was very taxing on my knees (I'm 46), I couldn't really walk after I ran, so I asked people around and switched to cycling, which is kind of safer for joints if you won't fall 😃Anyways, good luck with your journey, would be interested to see your progress going forward!

Love your content. Going to attempt my first ever in person races for Run Disney. Only ever done the virtuals so I wouldn’t get swept. Need to lose 70 more pounds (5 down) and train more. Shooting for 2026 for a coast to coast Dopey and half marathon. Wish me luck. Been walking 5ks and 5 milers a few times a week lately, but hopefully I can get my speed and endurance up.

Great advice Matt! I barely completed the dopey challenge in 2018. I agree the temp change is real, it was very cold, caught a lot of us by surprise. The right socks, body glide and the right running shoes are critical. Also train for the multiple day back to back runs. Dopey's multiple day runs will wear you out. Also stay out of your head, if it's not positive 😂. I saw so many give up a mile from the finish.

Thanks for sharing. I have run Chicago from one of the later corrals and people do not generally sit down waiting for the race to start. I was surprised by your concern about how long people are standing. I thought that was just an expected part of the race experience.

"multiple miles extra" by running around slower walkers/runners? C'mon man! Perhaps a few dozen extra yards....maybe a hundred extra yards, bur certainly not a mile, much less "multiple miles."
@Matt_Bod
@Matt_Bod 8 ай бұрын
Give it a try. Mine always adds at least 1 mile especially when you run multiple miles on the highway with huge crowds walking.

@@Matt_Bod I've "given it a try" 60+ times. Lets do the math. A mile is 5,280 feet. A standard lane is 10 feet. To add just one mile of the length of a marathon, you'd have to completely cross a lane 521 times or about 20 times a mile. Thats crossing a lane every 251 feet. Double that to get mileS..

I hate the touchscreen and I have to use "Lock" on it, because I often hit something somehow with my shirt... more than once I've tried to have a black screen (where it turned down light to 0)... that sucked. I didn't think about cleaning the Heart rate monitor. I did some skating with a mate, and his heart was pumping like crazy (apple watch) and mine for some reason was chill even though I could hardly speak. The rest is dope but I don't think I would buy the watch again.

I’m 300lbs and jog 5k 2-3 times a week without stopping at an average pace of about 12:30/min mile. I’m usually happy with a 39minute 5k. Thank you for doing this to help prove to me I shouldn’t be upset about being so slow.

hey man you should look into ocr events. savage race, spartan race, tough mudder and more. they are mud run or trail runs, but they have obstacles during the race. they are very fun in my opinion but can be brutal. but here's the catch, you cant go for time at these events. due to stopping and doing an obstacle or having to wait your turn due to the amount of people at the obstacle. I say give it a whirl
