Usually react channels feel kinda forced on their reactions to me, and your reactions feel truly genuine and thoughtful so i loved this.

Have you read the lyrics to Picture You? It’s not a love song. The song is about her fantasizing and masturbating to this other person and asking them if they do the same. And Pink Pony Club is supposed to be a gay club song. She was inspired to write it after going to a club and seeing the go-go dancers on stage and wanting to be like them. The song is over 4 years old, she made it with her told label before they dropped her bc she wasn’t making money. She had to move back to MO (from CA) and get a job at a drive thru. Then she moved back to CA and wrote the rest of this album. Hence the name of the album.

Not you calling this album out for having a tragedy within it RIGHT BEFORE COFFEE. It literally made me cry when I reacted to it. 😭

You saying “The beat is odd… it felt like spicy drone” SENTTT me hahahaha. Loved your review and thought it was so funny that what seemed to be your least favorite tracks were my favs (kamikaze, so right, come over). I’m drawn more towards songs that make my shoulders move without me even realizing it, and those were the ones that did it for me :P

Watch her Tiny Desk concert. In addition to sounding even better live than on the album, she's HILARIOUS. She's an exaggered version of herself, and has the entire room laughing between the songs.

Some recommendations if you're looking for other releases which have come out this year: - Nadine Shah - Filthy Underneath - Empress Of - For Your Consideration - Kacey Musgraves - Deeper Well - Maggie Rogers - Don't Forget Me Upcoming ones I'm personally excited for: - St Vincent - All Born Screaming - Aurora - What Happened to the Heart? - London Grammar - The Greatest Love Also, if you're loving the 80s vibe I think you might really like ionnalee. She's just released the first single(s) from her upcoming double album - CLOSE YOUR EYES/BLUND. The song's called "innocence of sound" and it's so wonderfully synth pop.

While there are marketable aspects in this album, generally I feel like it gave me stuff I have never heard before. It is so interesting and fun and sci-fi <3 I saw Ashnikko live in September and they were awesome

Yeah Chappell used to identify as bi. So she has a couple of songs that deal with having relationships/interactions with men... But in pretty much ALL of the recent interviews that have come out she's identifying as a lesbian...so theres that info for ya.
