Another question, I ordered the crank puller kit, and my c clip does not fit on my crank and the adapter doesn’t slide over the gear on the crank, could you possibly provide me the link of the adapter you used
@GarageAddiction
@GarageAddiction 2 күн бұрын
I used this adapter and a c-clip from a generic harbor freight kit since it will generally bend the clip when getting tight. amzn.to/37qvuIG

Did you jack the truck up to do the change or do you have room to work with it flat on the ground

Flat on the ground, little tight but not too bad!

do you jack up your truck in the middle or to just whatever side your working on ? For example you're doing the driver's side rotors and brakes so you jack the truck up closer to that side. Sorry if the question was too long, enjoyed the video.
@GarageAddiction

For this install I lifted the whole truck and dropped it on 4 stands, even if I'm only lifting one side I lift from the center and drop the truck on stands on the side I'm working on. Cheers!

Bedding new brakes and rotors on my 11 double cab will be the death of me. The squeal will not go away. But I have driven less than 200miles after install. Hoping for the best
@GarageAddiction
@GarageAddiction 7 күн бұрын
200 miles should be waaay more than enough. If they're squealing take the wheel off and have a look at the caliper, may need more grease on the back pad, might need the spreader springs replaced, or maybe the brakes are hanging on the pins. My brakes are bed in within 30 minutes of the install and don't make a peep.

I've been having lots of issues shifting through my bike. I have torn the bike down, and now i am redoing the transmission. I've been following step-by-step on the lowest speed on the video when you're installing the transmission, and when i do it, my bike wont shift. it's just stuck. I've been trying to figure it out for a few weeks now and i have found no solution. Help please.

Hey you can front end swap the 65 with drz125 forks and triple tree and it fits perfectly and it’s the same size of a 85 2stroke and it’s so much funer to ride because it’s not to small
@GarageAddiction
@GarageAddiction 7 күн бұрын
Interesting, haven't seen many drz125s out my way but sounds like it might be a nice improvement over the bare bones 65 forks.

It would be understandably more difficult without the press, but is it possible to just freeze the bearing and use the bearing drive set to hammer them in, I just got the parts for my rebuild and wanna make sure I’m doing it right
@GarageAddiction
@GarageAddiction 13 күн бұрын
Definitely doable with a freezer/driver. You can heat the cases up as well to make it easier just be careful once you get the right side seal in in not to roast it. An arbor press would probably reach all the bearings as well and they're pretty inexpensive.

Because they're cheap and I didn't have another vehicle to bring the rotors to a shop to get turned. Also not many shops around me still turn rotors.

I tried with blind puller multiple times, heated the bearing and crankcase but the puller just kept slipping out. Just before I was about to weld a threaded rod to bearing, I wanted to see what others are doing...I figured i'd try this before and after ramming an entire piece of bread on a tiny 6200 bearing it finally started coming out. Reused the same piece of bread and another slice to take out the remaining bearing. Can't thank you enough!!!

Other than noise almost no perceivable change. I've ridden bikes with the expansion and silencer combo, they are more like a light switch when it comes to power, it's either on or off which I don't really love.

To just replace the pads, do we need to remove the caliper?
@GarageAddiction
@GarageAddiction 29 күн бұрын
No they drop in with the caliper in place. You’ll have to spread the old ones out to push the pistons back in before hand to make some clearance. It’s a tight fit so it might just be easier to pull the caliper and retract the pistons anyway.

I also installed this bed extender on my 2019 Toyota Tundra TRD PRO-and used the brackets you recommended to avoid drilling into the body, which I absolutely loved! Thanks for that!! The straps are a HUGE disappointment! Not only do they not fit well, even using the smallest attachment, they are cheap elastic and have completely fallen apart-in the winter-in the Mojave desert. They are useless. They lasted maybe 90 days. I’m trying to come up with some kind of a fix that’s going to last longer than 90 days. Anybody in a climate with even a reasonable UV index is going to find exactly the same problem. (Mine is 12+ in the summer)
@GarageAddiction

Yeah the straps are pretty bad. Even without sitting in the sun they stretch out constantly. I've been thinking about using tie downs with a small D ring at the end for the tailgate.

Any update on the RC 390? Mine had the same problem and I replaced the head gasket, and water pump seals, and yet the oil and coolant are still mixing. Any update on your's?
@GarageAddiction
@GarageAddiction Ай бұрын
I gave up on the bike, it seemed like the most likely cause was something @bushidosteelcraft called out on one of my videos. The coolant jacket ports on the head any cylinder extend past the sealing surface in many locations. Instead of a full tear down and hoping to get some proper castings I let the bike go to someone who wanted to take a stab at it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rdmgo5R119vHc2Q.html
