I got loudly excited when I saw Tyr pull out the Macuahuitl. As a big lover of Mesoamerican mythology, it was amazing to see the Mayans/Aztecs' focus on the Sun & Sacrifice be displayed through the Norse God of War. I wasn't AS loud with the other weapons, but I did get similarly excited when Tyr did a literal "Yukikaze" with the katana.

Too bad that after completing Valhalla's story, we never get to hear the katana intro again, that flute goes hard

NGL, when Tyr pulled out a godsdamned Macuahuitl of all things, I got excited out of my mind. A God of War set in Mesoamerica would be a tale of blood and sibling rivalry that I imagine even Kratos would pause and say "What the Hel?" at. Though I imagine it'd probably be Atreus who would tackle that journey, likely kicking Mictlantecuhtli's behind for being a bastard to human souls.(According to this setting's lore.) Imagine having to fight with star demons, winged jaguars, and all kinds of human-faced, bloodthirsty horrors, possibly cooperating with Quetzalcoatl-who famously loves mortals and detests 'fatal' blood sacrifices- against the likes of Tezcatlipoca-who has been resoonsible for Humanity perishing in 4 out of 5 incarnations in the Myth of the Five Suns-, maybe even have a showdown with Huitzilopochtli, the Aztecs' own God of War, the Sun and Sacrifice. On the other hand, a God of War set in Egypt could probably even help Mimir get a body of flesh back.

For one of the three who created ALL THE REALMS and basically life as it stands in Norse myth, this battle was remarkably underwhelming. Even on NG+. You're up against a known shapeshifter who's gone around wearing Tyr like a housecoat, necromancer, sorcerer on Freyja's level and likely higher, a keen warrior and one decent shieldblock away from just "Oh, that just tickled."

I feel like this has a more stealth vibe to this. Even though this isn’t a game with stealth at all.
