Shouldnt purified water with O TDS be fine? We use it to clean our hanna checkers and any other testing kit.
@queenannesreef9271 Жыл бұрын
Great Question!!! Yes. RO/DI with 0 TDS should be totally fine. At the time of the release of this video, it was recommended to not use anything. After further experimentation and maintenance on my personal Tridents I have in the reef room, it’s totally safe to use. Try to still avoid scratches on the curvette.

@@queenannesreef9271 thanks for the reply man. Just actually finished cleaning it right now. Hope all works. Fingers crossed. I wish they had a diagram online about the solenoids with which reagent goes to which number solenoid. Just to make sure they are all connected correctly. They could’ve color coordinated everything too.
@queenannesreef9271 Жыл бұрын
@@shoxite so I’ve actually made my own diagrams and have figured out all of the Trident at this point. I’ve had several people locally have me fix their Trident. The most common issue tends to be a B fail or some type of B failure. And this is typically cause by corrosion or water damage in the bottom solenoid. The unit is actually quite interesting to watch function after your strip it down to bare bones and then run sequence testing with it. Although it won’t give proper readings when it’s stripped down. I’m glad you had success in cleaning your Trident. Thank you for watching the channel.

It doesn't come through in the video how big this skimmer is. I have the 8-24 and it is massive! Easily a 12" by 8" footprint and at least a foot and a half tall. Works great, though.
@queenannesreef9271 Жыл бұрын
Yes. It is a very large skimmer and has a large footprint in the sump. It definitely needs the Bashsea SS-60 sump (or some other brand of large sump) to accommodate for the size. It’s an excellent skimmer and we’ve had no issues with it. 👍

I just ran into the problem where all of my reagents were saying "bad reading".... "out of range", etc. Reading 0's across the board. I followed this video yesterday, cleaned the vial, made sure tubes were tight (they were), and carefully re ran the reagents into the unit, AND IT WORKED! Vial was gross (less than a year old), and after putting it back together, everything came back to what I've been seeing for many many months. Great video, and very easy to follow / do.

Thank you! This aquarium and stand had two options for the stand when we ordered from Planet Aquariums. A 36” or a 42”. We went with a 42” stand for eye level viewing and for hight clearance on equipment in the sump area. We knew the skimmer would be massive. We are loving the Bashsea products as well. Best of luck to you on your build. 👍

@queenannesreef92712 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I get excellent results out of the one on the 310. If you don’t purchase the pump that Bashsea offers with the skimmer, make sure you choose an adequate pump to match the skimmer. This skimmer is a beast and it requires a high GPH pump. 👍

That bead in the test chamber is a stir bar. It's held by a magnet on the stirrer and spins during a test. If you lose that the trident is garbage. The colorometer just measures colour, just lile a titration test you do by hand and watch for the colour change from pink to blue, the trident does the same thing. The colorometer can see the change better then your eye can.

What connection are you using for the pump connection to the barbed fitting on the skimmer that allowed you to hard plumb it?
@queenannesreef92712 жыл бұрын
We used a flex line from the hard plumbing to the barb connector on the skimmer. This specific Bashsea skimmer requires a 1” input line from the pump. The pump already has a union made to it so, this is the order of assembly from the pump to the skimmer. 1” union at the pump glued to a straight 1” PVC. Straight 1” PVC glued to a 1” 90 degree slip to slip elbow. 1” 90 degree slip to slip elbow glued to 1” straight PVC. 1” straight PVC to 1” barb fitting (slip). 1” barb (slip) to 1” flex hose line. 1” flex hose line connects to 1” barb on the skimmer. @ 0:27 you can see all the plumbing assembly pretty well. Hope this is helpful. Thanks for the question.

It all depends on what you are looking for. Zoas will range in prices (5-10 pp or 100-1000+ pp). You have to decide what’s worth it to you. We’ve ordered online, attended shows, and traveled 4+ hours for what we feel is a good deal.

Quick question. When adding the salt to the tank. Do you find it necessary to put it per se in the return pump area in the sump or just dump it straight into the display area of the tank? Just want to know your opinion on how to mix salt appropriately.
@queenannesreef92713 жыл бұрын
In a brand new set-up, it’s honestly irrelevant... As long as you get your salinity level to where it needs to properly be before adding live sand or rock. After a tank is set-up, saltwater should be mixed in a separate mixing station and brought to proper salinity level outside of the system before water changes or any other tank maintenance.
