I have a 5" gauge, 1" scale Kozo Hiraoka Class B Shay. It causes a lot of interest wherever I take it to run. The railway you show is magnificent and is a credit to the members who created and maintain it.

The manual recommends "white spirit" as fuel, I use 99.9% industrial alcohol, which is free of any soot formations, which might collect on the boiler and pipes, acting as an heat insulation over time.

I'm curious how you fitted the standard H0e/009 couplers to this Toma Shay. As far as I know, Toma don't make any couplers for that which can fit in the more American style coupler slots they use.

It is a great loco, I have another one with 42 years old, my logo is a prototype of Mateus ( the original name of the serie), with steam pump and electric steam generator, it is a reliable loco

It is, indeed. My loco is shop number 39. I don't know how many of them were build in total, but I knew some more here in Germany, also an 0-6-0 Eva loco.

Hi, Eigentlich ist das ja meine Waldbahn-Anlage, die mit zwei Modulen zum Zillertal-Thema erweitert wurde. Zum Bau der eigentlichen Anlage findest du sehr viel auf waldbahner.de und es gibt weitere Videos zur Waldbahn und dem Konzept auf meinem Kanal. Die Zillertal-Erweiterung nebst Rollmaterial ist mittlerweile Verkauft, da ich mich wieder voll auf Waldbahn konzentriere. Grüße, Gerd

Hallo, Das Servo dient zur Betätigung der Bremsen. Wie beim Vorbild sind die beiden mittleren Achsen gebremst. Somit läßt sich die Talfahrt auch mit einem schweren Zug gur kontrollieren. Weitere Details zu der Lok und den von mir gemachten Umbauten gibt's auf Waldbahner.de - am besten nach "Resita" suchen. Grüße, Gerd

Hi Ronnie, thanks for the feedback. No, I don't use sound in my locos and there's no indoor layout (lack of space - hence the garden railroad). Next year, I'm going to expand the garden railroad with an extension to the lower station (far left end) and I look for a larger logging camp side at the existing loading spur. Hi, it's not a Porter, its a freelanced 0-4-4 Forney, converted from an european 0-4-0 Koppel loco. The Koppel loco was build in 1983 in Spain.

Ich hatte die Lok vor ein paar Jahren mal wieder überholt und seit dem bin ich wieder top zufrieden. Aktuell ist die Shay mam wieder Z-gestellt wegen Reparaturen, daher muss die Forney wieder mehr ran.

It's a class A with two cylinder engine. Class B would have a 3 cylinder engine.

In this scale, I only build this single locomotive. My second loco on the line is an 0-4-4 Forney. But I operate couple more Shays on 45mm and 9mm track gauge as well. I'm familiar with the Shays at Alishan, but never been there. Seems #21 got back into operation after a rebuild. This is very cool.
