I put a vtg 3d emblem Harley shirt on eBay. Got a lot of interest but it was all accounts from Thailand. Thought that was odd. Put it on auction. And it went to 2000$ but it was all these Thai accounts, and a yes account that shipped out of country. Got worried I was being scammed. And ended the auction. Why is there so much interest from Thailand?

From my understanding, when Talon’s patents ran out, that is when YKK came into the scene. They were made in the USA. The history is very interesting.

Well? Now I know there is a place for bootlegging. A lot people bootleg classic shirt designs. They may be fake but at least they wont rip for years because they are new shirts
@metalneanderthal17 күн бұрын
As a collector of comics, action figures, cd/dvd/bluray, vinyl, cassettes, VHS, and t shirts. Everything I mean everything has a shelf life. Plastics break down as does paper and Cloth. Keep in mind all of these things weren’t made to last 100s of years. Rot has affected all of my collections at some point, dry rot, disc rot, plastics breaking down and getting brittle etc. Proper care helps but eventually everything will be dust. Cloth/leather etc weakens. How many people are out in public in a true vintage civil war era shirt or coat. Or how about a WW2 bomber jacket? The answer? None. Those originals are in display in museums or personal collections under glass. That’s when reproductions come onto play. A lot my vintage Ts that I bought new that are now 30 to 40 years old I hardly wear anymore. Once in a great while. Why? I don’t what them to get messed up or rip. I can take a brand new shirt right off of a rack in a store and rip it with enough force. Dry rot is an issue but unfortunately like I said these shirts were originally made to be worn until they wore out. and that was it. It you wash your shirts too much the graphic cracks and eventually breaks off to the point were it’s almost unrecognizable. So you’re damned if you do damned if you don’t Bottom line? See a new cool shirt you like? Buy it, wear it, enjoy it, take care of it, and? Screw spending 100s or 1000s of dollars on vintage shirts. Unless you want to frame them and display them. The only vintage Ts I own I bought when they were new. I’ve never gone back and bought an old shirt for tons of money.
