I really enjoy the enthusiasm of these videos and the analysis draws out some very important themes in the theory/philosophy of art. The conversation is however tainted by “confirmation bias” - her starting point is her own strong faith in Christianity. In itself I would have no personal objection to this stance if, and only if, she had balanced this with alternative explanations of “beauty” that require no appeal to the existence of some divine being.

Let's look at the how many words and letters are in this verse in arabic. وَإِن تَعُدُّوا۟ نِعْمَتَ ٱللَّهِ لَا تُحْصُوهَآ ۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَغَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ Let's count the words: 10 words. Divide 10 words by 1.618= 6 words. The 6th word is the golden ratio in this verse and it translates "to enumerate them." Let's count the letters: 39 then divide by 1.618= the letter you will land on as the golden ratio point in this verse is the last letter of the word that is the golden word in this verse which is numbered 16:18= golden ratio which is 1.618. Most people don't realize this, but Allah is the creator of the universe and the Qur’an is the reflection of this universe and a miracle filled with signs for us to see and ponder. We can even find the golden ratio point on our globe which is exactly at Mecca, the holy city that has the sacred Kaaba. If you look at the golden ratio point of Mecca it exactly points to the Kaaba. It gets crazier. The original dimensions of the Kaaba is also perfect and equals to the golden ratio. I hope this knowledge I just shared shows them the truth and helps them in their life. I discovered this video tonight, just because I've been tempted on giving a new artistry a try at my college such as printmaking. also because a digital art professor of mine at my college also recommended it on giving it a try once. Ya make it sound really fun and I might give it a try sometime to boost my artistry to co-exist with my painting.

The Golden Ratio exists, and certainly the number Phi exists and has certain seemingly magical properties, but many of the examples used (by you and by many others) are poor examples. The ratio is an extremely precise irrational number ( Phi = Φ = 1.618033988749895… ), which can only be approximated with five digits (1.1618). But my argument is not that precisely. Many of the ratios and spirals that you reference are only sort of close to Phi and are not Golden Spirals but logarithmic spirals. They are not the same thing, although both are interesting and beautiful.

The golden ratio is actually (1+sqrt(5))/2 = 1.6180 approximately. Not simply 1.6 as described in the video.
