Yeah nothing like muddy/soft base that will quickly destabilize the pavement causing cracking, ruts, and pot holes. Also, if this freezes you get serious frost heaving.

Thank you for this information. I would like to know whether speed humps will reduce noise reduction in a residential street. Most of the noise generated is from tyres, and wind.
