Thanks for the comment. I am still working on getting all the necessary gear for this channel but it is expensive especially for someone who isn’t making any money off of the videos. I did just buy some editing software that should help with the background noise in future videos. A mic is definitely on the list to purchase and needed especially in that noisy old barn. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Thanks. Use a little flathead screwdriver and gently pry it back towards the wire. It shouldn’t have to be taken completely out but it happens sometimes. Dirt, dust and brittle plastic sometimes makes it impossible unfortunately. If you want to get a clear look at how it works check out the plug on your MAF sensor it operates the same way and is very easy to see.

where is the shift switch on a 2008 mercury optimax 115
@sloth-worx
@sloth-worx Ай бұрын
It should be attached to the bracket the shift cable slides in. Looking at an old parts diagram it appears that the wires that connect it to the main wire harness may use bullet connections instead of a single plug. They can be hard to see, if you can find the wire they will lead you to it. There is always a chance someone removed an and just connected the wires together. Hope this helps you out. Good luck

I'm going to try this with creekchubs, common carp fillets, bluegill fillets, and shad to fish for channel catfish. If this works, I will be vacuum sealing the baits and storing them in my garage in a 5-gallon bucket with a screw-on lid. I hope this goes well. It so, it will free up space in my freezer for more catfish nuggets instead of storing frozen bait. 😉

Check that the switch still operates smoothly by hand after it’s installed. If the screws are too tight or some kind of imperfection in the mounting surface may jam up the new switch.

@sloth-worx
@sloth-worx 3 ай бұрын
I haven’t tried it yet but I would be tempted to just wire it up straight to the terminals on the solenoid and delete that little plastic piece all together. I know the switch wire will work, just need to make sure there is enough wire on the main wire and bend the ring terminal a bit to work. Otherwise junkyard if you have any close by. Good luck with your project.

@RoofingConnecticut
@RoofingConnecticut 3 ай бұрын
@@sloth-worx i didn’t see anything melted I think I just ran into the same problem as you with the switch wire and the guy who owned the truck before me must not have bolted the main wire well enough because the nut was missing and the terminal on the starter side was damaged from vibration

That makes sense. If the starter side is messed up beyond getting a nut back on there you will unfortunately have to get a new starter.

I use the Louisiana Fish Fry in the blue bag all the time. Best store bought breading I ever tasted for flavor and crispness, but what was the one in the yellow pack called. I sometimes mix about a third of cracker meal with the blue Louisiana, if my fillets are thick. I find that it makes the breading stick just a little better. Tell me about that other breading. I want to try it.
@sloth-worx
@sloth-worx 4 ай бұрын
It is Louisiana brand as well, it’s the New Orleans style. The cornmeal and flour is a finer grind and it has more lemon flavor (maybe a bit much for my taste by itself). I started out using half a bag of the yellow bag to one of the blue but now I just use 1:1. We get great coverage on the filets and the pop of the lemon is a little something different most people aren’t used to. Their etouffee and cobbler mix are worth a try as well. This is not a paid advertisement just highly recommend products lol. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!

I am worried that if this fails, my outboard will be effectively hooked up to 24 volts. Could this thing failing hurt my outboard?
@sloth-worx
@sloth-worx 4 ай бұрын
I don’t think there’s anyway to get more than 12v to the outboard as long as the power and ground wires are only connected to one of the batteries. If the trollbridge fails I believe that you will not get 24v to the trolling motor or your batteries won’t parallel and you will only be charging the outboard/house battery. With that said it would definitely be possible to manually connect the wires to the wrong battery terminals and create an issue. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
