If you watch the Knowing Bros channel for a recent variety show, Ruka did declare that she is the dance leader. Rami declared that she is the vocal leader. Ahyeon was initially the first choice leader but was sick and by April 2024, OT6 had already performed Batter Up, Stuck in the middle and Christmas without you. So Ahyeon is the newbie with her first debut with Sheesh. But in recent live shows on KBS cool radio station and Its Live, Ahyeon is pushing hard as a dominant vocal force in Baby Monster. Newbie rookie for now but she clearly wants to retake her leadership in the group however Rora is a natural public speaker and have taken the MC lead presenting the group in public. Blackpink never had a leader. Jisoo is the oldest so is known as Unnie as a sign of respect for the eldest. She was known as the glue that kept Blackpink girls together. Jennie was usually known as YG princess having her first solo project years ahead of the rest of the members. Jennie also led with the Coco chanel luxury label branding of Blackpink before luxury brands was even a thing in the kpop industry. Jennie is a allrounder singer, rapper and dancer and is known in Korea as the It girl. If there is a leader it would be Jennie.

Thanks for the info. I’ll look more into it as updates come! Jennie had many talents, but if you yourself say Jisoo kept everyone together, I think that is a bigger sign of a leader. I would never trust Jennie to do that, and it’s not just about age. I knew a girl who was in an Asian rock band and she wasn’t the leader, but had leadership qualities. So I understand both sides.

Ahyeon was sick last year so Batter Up was OT6 debut in November 2023. So the YG official debut is Sheesh OT7 in April 2024. Blackpink debuted with Boombayah which held the fastest 200 million in kpop debut history in 370 days. This record was smashed by Baby Monster Batter Up OT6 in 53 days. Sheesh the new official debut will smash 200 million in 30 days.

Some of your points are off. Rose can be a leader because she speaks English. That is spokesperson. Lisa is the youngest and goofiest. It is apparent that her Unnies do not take her too seriously. The one that brings BP matters to the management is Jennie. So, is she the leader? There is no leader in BP because the members decided that. What does it tells you? YG leaves the choosing of leader to the members which make sense. As for Baby Monster, that would most likely be the case. The members are the one interacting with each other all the time.
@mochipopentertainment
@mochipopentertainment 15 күн бұрын
I don’t disagree with you. Of course Rose the leader because she speaks English. That’s silly. Bother Rose and Jennie speak English so that wouldn’t have been conclusive. I did think that Jennie did have a potential to be the leader too. Should have made that clearer. Was just making cases of when I was trying to figure out who the leader was a few years ago around 2019 based on the little info I knew at the time, so I was basically going back to how I was thinking without knowing anything about the group. I like to find figuring out myself without any sources just for fun by observation. That was before I got on KZfaq. With Jisoo, I heard from others that she was the leader, but never got the official info. I’m not claiming to be an expert in this. Hope that clears things up. This is why I said I will give an update if the there’s an update for Baybmonster.

There were reasons that they didn't debut on schedule. They were supposed to debut around Sept 2023 from what YG said in the LAST EVALUATION in the member announcement on May 11, 2023. In June, BABYMONSTER was seen in Thailand which most people thought was some kind of promotional for the group but then in July, Ahyeon was noticeably abcent from BABYMONSTER's social media. In that same month YG announced that BABYMONSTER would be aiming debut in September but with Ahyeon noticeably being missing. So when September came around, the BABYMONSTER members were seen at the BLACKPINK's finale concert on Sept 17 clearly without Ahyeon. The rumor was that BABYMONSTER's debut was going to be at this concert but since they were a member down it was most likely not going to happen. Finally on Oct 10, YG made a statement that BABYMONSTER and said, "They are carefully selecting the title track for the best result." At this point, YG was not being transparent about Ahyeon's condition which means that they were scrambling to figure out what to do along with this they were also having big issues with getting the BLACKPINK member re-sihninhg their individual contracts which would have expired in August. Finally, on November 10 YG announces that BABYMONSTER will debut on Nov 27. Then on Nov 15, YG announces that Ahyeon will not debut with BABYMONSTER due to health concerns and has decided to focus on recovering instead of debuting with the group. So this is speculation. They didn't talk about what health concerns happened to Ahyeon but is most likely started around June and it was about that time when the internet was giving her negative comments. There was use of the "N" word in a performance that she did at her school and the video went viral. So you can just imagine what negativity that people were saying and all of this to a 15-uear-old girl that is from Korea and most likely doesn't understand the significance of that word. When she trying to apologize for the use of the word which her friend from school posted because YG does control their social media, it got immediately taken down and an apology from Ahyeon's friend was put up saying, "It was not my place to leak this apology without the company's permission." So the thing is that it was most likely Ahyeon health concern was her mental health and it is important because that means they don't know if and when Ahyeon would return. I don't think that BATTER UP was their first choice to debut the group with or if it was then they had to do a re-recording of the song because Ahyeon had to leave the group. I could imagine that for a girl that young it gave her anxiety and she probably got panic attacks. The most likely reason that they didn't do live shows was because that they were hoping that Ahyeon would return sometime soon after the debut. So they put out BATTER UP, CHRISTMAS WITHOUT YOU, and STUCK IN THE MIDDLE as a 6 member group not promoting which got fans saying that Ahyeon is probably not going to return to the group. YG made an announcement on Dec 31 for STUCK IN THE MIDDLE to be released on Feb 1 and that Ahyeon is still a part of BABYMONSTER but still needs rest. Then on Jan 24, YG made a surprise announcement that Ahyeon will rejoin the group and that she has fully recovered. Now that Ahyeon is back they have appeared in several shows and is actively promoting their title track Sheesh. So far they have appeared on Inkigayo (I think about 3 times now), Mnet, It's Live, Knowing Bros, Human Idol Theater, KBS Radio, MBC Radio and there might be more that I am missing but that is the ones that I know of so far. I doubt that they are going with the exclusivity like they did with BLACKPINK. Think about this: How long did it take BLACKPINK to come out with a mini-album? (2 years BP vs 5 months BM) How often in the first two years did BLACKPINK drop new songs? 5 songs vs Intro track and 5 original songs but in 5 months. Is YG getting better at promoting girl groups? There is some improvements but we will see over time. Now that they have 2 girl groups since group contract with BLACKPINK is signed but they don't have the individual contracts with each member and BABYMONSTER members we will see if they can keep up putting out music at this rate or it is a temporary thing since they made a lot of money from BLACKPINK's World Tour and trying to create that same success with BABYMONSTER. For the leader of BLACKPINK, the members themselves said that they decided there wouldn't be one official leader. Jisoo is more like the mom of the group and Jennie does take lead for certain things to do with their performance while Lisa takes the lead with the dance and Rosé will take lead vocals. So because of that, BLACKPINK even said in an interview that while they don't have an official leader they share the responsibilities and is the reason that they don't have a leader. BABYMONSTER said in an interview that they will also be like their seniors and not choose a leader for the group. They have Ruka that take lead for dance, Ahyeon and Rami take the lead for vocals. Not sure if they are still getting to pick their lines but in the pre-debut they know each others strengths and weaknesses so they were able to divide the lines according to what each member is capable of doing.But collectively as a group they are making decisions since affects each other. The other thing is that everyone is saying things like this person is main and this person is lead. With this group I don't think that you can label them that way. Each on the members can actually can claim to be main in different things and if you were to actually not have BABYMONSTER and they were to be soloists, each member would most likely be successful. It is funny because Rora, while being the second youngest in the group seems to be the mom or being like in that Jisoo role.

After YG made their public announcement, in May 2023, of Babymonster debuting, Korean laws pertaining to minors in K-POP were changed and went into effect in June 2023. Amongst the legal changes was the reduction of the amount of hours a minor could legally work per day/week and changed what was legally considered "work". In addition, while the group was preparing for their debut, one of the members (Ahyeon) went on hiatus for health concerns. Those reasons were why it took so long for Babymonster to debut. In November 2023, Babymonster debut as a six member group (Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Rami, Rora, Chiquita). As a six member group they did no active promotions or shows. It was speculated by k-netizens that this was being done because YG was waiting for all the members to be active in the group. In January 2024, YG announced that the member on hiatus has returned. All the previously released songs ("Batter Up", "Stuck in the Middle") were being re-recorded to add the returning member for their mini album. In addition to the mini album being released in April 2024, a full album is scheduled to be released in Fall 2024. YG also acknowledged the stereotypical slow release of music from YG groups, which is why they recently increased the amount of producers at YGE from 10 to around 40 so that more music would be made/released at a faster rate then what was previously being done at. The release of their mini album title track ("Sheesh") is now considered the official seven member debut of Babymonster. This also started their promotion cycle and have gone on various shows/events. A mini fan meet tour of Asia has also been announced for Spring 2024 and the Summer Sonic music festival has confirmed Babymonster to be performing at their events during Summer 2024. Like Blackpink, there is no official leader for Babymonster. It's what the members have decided for themselves. The members of Blackpink have stated that depending on the activity, the member best suited to handle that activity will take the leader role. Examples that k-netizens have noticed... Jisoo takes it for behind the scenes upkeep activities, Jennie takes it for all business reasons/activites, Rosé takes it for all artistic activities, and Lisa takes it for all performance training activities. From all the content that has been released showing Babymonster, k-netizens are speculating it is the same with Babymonster and the leader role changes depending on the activity; that Ruka takes the leader role when dealing with behind the scenes upkeep activities, Ahyeon & Rami take the leader roles when dealing with training activities, and Rora takes the leader role when interacting with reporters. Music videos released by Babymonster: 05-12-2023 = "Dream", their pre-debut song. 11-26-2023 = "Batter Up", their OT6 debut song. There is also a dance performance video and two (school version & stadium version) special stage videos. 12-19-2023 = "Christmas Without You", their OT6 Christmas cover song. 02-01-2024 = "Stuck in the Middle", their OT6 pre-release song for their mini album. There is also a special stage video and a live stage video. 04-01-2024 = "Sheesh", their OT7 debut song and title track for their mini album. Currently, there is a dance performance video, a It's Live series concert with live band video, two radio show live performance videos, and three music show performance videos. Babymonster has also appeared on the JTBC Knowing Bros variety show and the KBS Idol Human Theater show. *Edit for spelling and grammar errors.

If you notice someone accusing Hybe groups of payola, it's usually YG stans. It's their go-to argument whenever a Hybe artist does well. But the irony is, it's been YG caught paying for views for their artists. Real talk, if you wanna know what's really happening, look at the data. YG groups might seem huge everywhere, but their streams and following don't always match up with their sales. On the other hand, Hybe's groups are consistent. Do your own digging, you'll see. Anyone can argue with me, I can back it up with actually real data and not just opinions lol

I’m sure most companies do it on some level. My argument was that it seemed like a normal thing these big companies might due, assuming it’s even true. People will always make there assumptions either way. Don’t worry, YG is next lol.
