Hi guys, I believe the battery for the Defender is located under the drivers seat? Could you please confirm where you mounted the 'Chassis' & the 'Microphone' for the GME UHF CB in the Defender. Also, i believe you can get a bonnet mount for the antenna which may give you a better choice of antenna rather than one fixed glass mount antenna if you didn't want to mount it to a roof rack as i'm sure there would be other cables going thru the firewall to follow.
@accelerateoffgridtouring10 күн бұрын
Hey Peter!, Thanks for your comment! We utilised a GME pass through to be able to unplug the hand piece when not in use. The main unit itself is mounted under the dash behind the glovebox!

Hi @guillermoocho359! Thanks for your comment! Looking that up it has a 1700W Motor, you would need a minimum 2000w inverter. If you are running that every second for 5 hours it would pull 141Ah/Hour, so you would want at least 705Ah battery bank which is massive! Thanks for watching!

@accelerateoffgridtouring15 күн бұрын
Hi Karina! Thanks for your comment! Yes unless you have a mains source of power and it wired correctly through caravan you would need a suitable amount of battery power to power the inverter to run your fridge off-grid. Thanks for watching!

@accelerateoffgridtouring23 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching! No, sorry, a smaller wattage inverter will not power a larger wattage device, you inverter needs to have a higher wattage then your device. Thanks for your comment, We basically wire them both as per their standard wiring diagram with a switched current rated relay on the input to give us user control when we want the bulk charge. - The key thing with this is to ensure the earths are via the shunt & your batteries will accept the total charge current.

Hi MrFerrill, Thanks for your comment! Let's discuss a 600w inverter vs a 3000w. Turned on but with no appliances running a decent brand 3000w inverter would draw about 6amps.
