More than any other ice skating performances I've ever seen, I fondly remember this particular performance most of all. Michelle absolutely shined that night. I was watching it with others & we were *all* in awe!

Superior skaters they were and they had an even more successful coaching career. Their influence can be seen in Papadakis and Cizeron who in my opinion they coached to be the best the world has ever seen. If you look up the list of skaters they have coached it's an astounding success story. Only true Talent can do that.

To be honest I'd never saw any figure skaters or ice dancers who got the crowd more than them (c'mon they got an applause through step sequence and before even music started playing!). Even Tessa and Scott in Pyongyang, tough their routine is historic and iconic at the same time, they didn't make the crowd went crazy about their performance THAT MUCH. Maybe it's also because of the music - Ennio Morricone was indeed a genius. It seems that his music and Dorota's and Mariusz's routine is a perfect combo ❤

The best story I heard about her concerned her warm-up before a performance. Most skaters warm up a little bit, and when the announcer gives their name, they skate right to their spot. Oksana, however, would continue to skate around a little bit before finally settling into her pose. It often lasted quite a long Moment or two. She was asked why she did this, and her answer was “ I’m waiting for my skates. When my skates tell me to skate, I skate.” I remember the finals, when Oksana had barely beaten Nancy, a colleague and I were talking about it, and she thought Nancy had actually done very well with the artistic presentation, where she was considered to be at a considerable disadvantage. Then the next night they had the exhibition and they showed this. I went to work the next day and she said, “I’ve changed my mind about Oksana, that was beautiful.” So glad they’ve posted this. It’s Really everything skating should be.

Michelle kwan beat herself, she shouldn't be alone without Frank Carroll to join the 2002 Olympics. She challenged herself more than challenged the Olympics. However, when Michelle came back to win the 2003 World championship again, she became a legend.

Whenever I see a female single skater using this song in their program, I always compare it to this performance. Sasha Cohen used this song during her amateur years and even i felt it wasn't as good as this. There is not a single one who level up to this kind of elegance and performance. The way her choreography matches with every single note of this music is just breathtaking. Even to this day, Lu Chen's elegance remains unmatched.
