If ever there was an infuriating scam! Roman bureaucracy and its associated graft! Tickets are supposedly 13 euros, but oh no, when you go to pay, they make you buy packages of shit that you don't need! There is no way around it! I worked all my magic and called all my many Roman friends. When in Rome bend over because you are going to take it. Period..

Hello, i will visit the basilica at October. I want to bring my sony a7iii with a 35mm lens. Do i have to keep it in my hands to pass through security? Can i bring a small bag with me and keep a second lens in there?

If you are on a tour, I always encourage you to check with them to make sure you comply with their rules. But I believe the answer to your question is yes, a small bag will work. If you want to be safe, where a jacket (we are talking October) with pockets where you could store your extra lens, maybe a battery and media card. If you have to store the bag, at least you can still carry what you need. My wife carried a miniature backpack (you can see it on her back in this video to the center left at 5:23 and she made it thru security with no trouble. As for your lens, hopefully your 35mm has a wide aperture as 90% of this tour is indoors (dark) and the basilica is even darker. No flashes, of course. If you can find a wider angle lens to take as well you'll be happy you did. Even without a crop factor, 35mm is still fairly long for shooting all the incredible stuff that is jammed in there - but something to shoot longer shots like 35-70 is nice as well (like when you want to shoot the Pieta).

@@JeffSibelius ah thank you for that! I saw the bag you are talking about. I also see larger bags in other videos and i just found information about the maximum dimensions allowed (40-35-15 cm). I will have to bring something smaller than that to be safe. Yes a jacket is a good idea! I have a 35 sigma f1.4 so I'm good with low light. My other lens is the 85mm sigma. I don't have a wider lens, i guess my phone will fill that gap😂. Thank you again for the information!

We booked a tour for this and the tour company c0cked everything up for us so i came here to see if i missed out on anything with my own eyes, also the staff were horrible. i have a walking disability and while i was using the railing to support myself upstairs a guard stormed down, saw me and stood until i moved for him and i nearly fell down. I guess italians haven't caught up with the rest of europe on invisible disabilities, I'll never be back at this place again, even if the art was amazing the staff are just as cold and stoney as the statues. This place really dimmed what has been an otherwise okay holiday, i reccomend everyone to go somewhere else there are other beautiful and much less touristy expensive villas and galleries, hidden gems even.

Hi Doreen - I never was able to get to the official website. It just woudn't open for me. I will copy the link I used to get tickets and book tours, and it worked great for me. I believe it is also sanctioned by the museum. www.tosc.it/artist/galleria-borghese/galleria-borghese-2253937/

Did you buy from the gallery? If so, you might try calling their tickets line and explaining what happened. You don't want a refund, just an exchange for a tour with a different language. They very well could go for that.

When my daughters and I went in 2019 we started on the top floor as advised by Rick Steve's book. Then we got rushed out and didn't get to see the first floor. Be mindful of the time and realize they will put you out when you time is up. Big disappointment.

If you don't plan carefully, your trip to the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Cathedral will be a miserable experience. Averaging more than 20,000 visitors each day, the Vatican Museum is often packed to the walls with tourists, making it almost impossible to see the exhibits and artwork without being dragged through the halls in a mass of bodies. In this video I give you 15 power tips on the Vatican Museum and St. Peter's Cathedral. When to go, how to get there, how to avoid problems entering the museum . . . and my #1 tip is exactly the opposite of what I normally offer for visiting a tourist site. But this tip makes all the difference with seeing the Vatican Museum in particular.

Superb video! When visiting another city or country, every educated person must visit a museum. Visiting museums is very useful and fascinating. A love for the "eternal" and "beautiful" is awakened in a person, the beginnings of greatness and respect for history are inculcated. It is impossible to turn the excursion into something banal, ordinary and boring. The person should be a comprehensively developed person, cultured, educated, critically and analytically thinking, with knowledge of foreign languages. It is the knowledge of a foreign language that opens wide prospects for a person to realize his/her creative potential, career and financial growth. I would like to recommend the practical training course by Yuriy Ivantsiv "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign language", where you can find lots of useful information how to learn a foreign language quickly. Learn a foreign language and realize your creative potential on an international scale! The international community needs creative ideas! Thanks to the author of the channel for a very fascinating tour!

For me, the Borghese Gallery is the most incredible place in Rome. It features great masterpieces such as Aeneas, Anchises and Ascanius; Sleeping Hermaphrodite; Rape of Proserpine; Apollo and Daphne; Bernini's David; Paolina Bonaparte; Dancing Satyr With Castanets; and several Caravaggio paintings. The décor itself - the ceilings, floors, doors and more - is breathtaking. I could tell you all the wonderful things there, but the best way to share the Borghese Gallery is to simply show it to you. So, this video features seven minutes of photographs and video from inside the gallery - no words, just incredible images of some of western civilization's finest pieces of art, presented in a setting like you have never witnessed before.

For 1,300 years, San Miniato al Monte Church has looked over the city of Florence, Italy. Today the Benedictine monks continue their centuries-old tradition of singing evening vespers in Latin, in Gregorian Chant. This is a recording of the complete evening prayers vespers service, shot in May, 2023.

The history of Las Vegas is built on its fancy buffets. On our recent trip to Las Vegas, we tested out two buffets - at Luxor and Excalibur - to see which casino had our favorite. The competition was extremely close. Who won the Battle of Buffets in Las Vegas? Watch this video to find out.
