So everything is demonstrated except that we are not given a CFM number , we are not even given a correlation between CFM and MAF ? not really sure what the point of this video even is ?

The coil you describe as “Yukon” is also used on the Tahoe. It is manufactured by Delphi (pronounced - Dell Fi). But most of the vehicles where flex fuel with up to 84% ethanol (1% lost to de-naturing at the plant, otherwise it is pure alcohol and subject to tax. Also, Only truck or rail as it is too corrosive to run thru existing pipe) The E85 engines have a higher flow fuel injector and maybe the reason for engineering specs / hotter spark to complete burn. MALCO is Mitsubishi Electrical Company. With just the production run in 2003 in trucks, vans and SUV’s was 1.3 million units. Multiply this times 8 ignition coils per unit, that is 10 million coils (+/-) That’s a lot of coils, not including cars or other manufactures. Wow! Why not just test it in the engine with your scope , test it while subjecting it to its normal environment . You can get a capacitive probe that can pick up the magnetic field from the coil's secondary winding . our you can just clip a copper penny on a alligator clips and float the ground of the lead .

Cop3 line ignition coil, generally have several trigger methods? I want to know the ECM output? Still the detection of the control line of the input ignition coil, or the principle, I am eager to understand them and know how to detect whether the ECU is normal, or the ignition coil fails? Thank you

I need help, I just put D 585s on my boosted f body.. Before the computer relearned, I was picking up 4 degrees of Knock, that went away, but when I spray, I am picking up 3 degrees of Knock. I have 96 oct in the car. But before I bolted this on, I never had Knock, even when spraying the 100 shot on pump gas. I am running a 9.1 compression 383, 6 pounds of boost. I never picked knock up before... So please help... What can I do, and why is it happening to me.

It appears that the spark is retarded by several mSec as you increase the dwell, but that may appear that way if you are using capacitive (AC) coupling on the scope or from the signal generator to the trigger. Also, the signals lose their ground reference as you go higher in frequency, which also indicates AC coupling. And I'm assuming that the blue trace is the trigger signal from the generator, although perhaps it is the current on the 12 VDC supply. The yellow trace could be the coil output voltage, although I would expect it to be jagged like the blue trace.

Can anyone confirm the coils I have ordered in the link below are the same as the one in the video identified as AC D-585 please? www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BYD3Y0/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Note: ACDelco partners with other manufacturers to supply the parts your car was originally built with. This product is in a ACDelco package, however the part may have been manufactured by an independent ACDelco supplier and could have a different color or shape than the product image above.

Your whole experimental setup is a total fail. With a small plug gap your HT won't exceed about 1KV. The secondary current is just a function of the secondary resistance, nothing else

Thanks for sharing, after reading some posts I was confused on LS coils, I think I have ones I can use now, they are the heat sink coils from a truck I'm going to use on my LS3 swap into a C3 Corvette. I wish I could buy you a beer! Thanks again!

Nice...gotta add Thisone to my collection, maybe power my Soon to be EFI Scooter... @BowlingSuperior Would the module version of the MS3 incorporate any of the 3X componants? Seems like the MS3 board as-is is not far from a "module" already...

@BowlingSuperior Ok, thanks for clearing that up. I can see where you are coming from and a $50 price drop can't be a bad thing. It is good to hear that a module version of MS3 is in the pipeline too.

Looks nice. This should help people who want to use MS in a more extreme environment. Is there any indication of price yet? Could a rename to Microsquirt 2.5 or something be considered? Megasquirt nomenclature can be confusing enough at times as it is for newbies. If it still uses a MS2 processor why would you call it a 3? Does this mean there will never be a Microsquirt or module with the MS3 processor? Or would that be called Microsquirt 4?

@BowlingSuperior Hmm, what will you call the MicroSquirt when you put an MS3 CPU in it? I know a lot of people have been really hoping for an MS3 version of the MicroSquirt module to use as an upgrade for their DIY_PnP units.. Seems odd to redesign an outdated version.
