Ive never used pedals always been kinda interested but such an amateur and have decided to quit spending $ and be happy with what ive got for a bit haha Also always saw the kp3 as a kinda pedal substitute, what would you say about that? Or i guess how close would that be to how you'd describe the kaoss pad? Also I don't think you're too old to be a pro musician especially like with the talent on display every time you make some music. I think the path there is near impossible but you've definitely got the talent for it imho The glitchy-ness caused by that pedal sounds great too, the night sky adds such a nice atmosphere to it! Real chill demo work too 👌🔥👏

Hi. I just get an "timeout" error message when I try to transmit via the kp3editor. Any help? Also, any advice for setting it up to use the touchpad as a x-y controller for a vst/auto filter in ableton? I wanna be able to map the one axis to filter cut off for example and the other axis for resonance. But i cant get this to work. I have it set up with old fashion midi cables to my interface. Still no success.

Tough to diagnose without seeing your specific set up. But here are a couple things that caused similar issues for me in the past: MIDI cables were connected wrong (out was going to out and in was going to in) Make sure you have the latest driver installed. I don't know if they have one for mac but here's the links to the downloads. www.korg.com/us/support/download/product/1/118/

I'm the same with creation and I have started the path of mixing and mastering as a means to turn audio into the business. Then any music myself is and will be a hobby that will have some element of business but more so like odd freelance projects. Selling a tune for others to use as video background music and then a free resource of music for my own. Family time is the most important thing and currently haver to have a day job myself and don't mind just doing that at all... so pretty much the same. I am so glad they made a Kaoss Plugin as I have loved the Kaoss Pad for creating transitions in beats. The problem with using one for this is you are kind of sacrificing quality, flexibility after it's recorded, and again you'd need multiple to effect multiple signals and so love the plugin. It's not quite a organic but vastly more unlimited in practical use in a full production. Love you using the Ottobit, really want one for making sampling more gritty and old sounding. Hardware I have found always to be much much more fun and enjoyable but a nightmare in complete production lol.

Yeah I hear you about using plugins. I'm starting to like hardware more and more because it forces me to commit to something. With plugins I always find myself going back and tweaking things when I should just be done with something. I haven't checked out the plugin version of the Kaossilator. I need to take a look at that!

Great guide. I have the KP2 and just recently started experimenting with intergrading it into my effects chain. The only thing I have to change from your guide is that my amps do not have an FX Loop so I just go to the front of the amp. I just mitigate the signal degradation through a buffer.

This is super useful. What a powerful device. Tbh as an effects processor on its own it's just ok but as a controller for live use of a daw it's way more interesting. So much creative potential with this thing.

One use is pairing it with a sampler-sequencer as a sample pre-processing effect looper. The SmplTrek, for example, isn't super powerful when it comes to effects, so pairing that with a KP3 to mess up the samples before sampling and chopping them up makes for a pretty strong duo. I have two KP3's (one fell on the floor and got noisy and a weird graphical glitch) and a KP3+. What I like about the KP3+ is it has some scratching capability, which the KP3 did not. That makes the + particularly useful for live looping when you just quickly wanna scratch a custom sound without going through a whole process on another device. There are certainly better devices for scratching, but not a lot of devices I know of can immediately scratch what came through the input a second ago. There's the Tweakalizer, but I have one of those too and it just randomly decided to stop working for no apparent reason (that's Behringer for you, I guess).

Nice tutorial- I hadn't thought of it as a mutli effects device for guitar, I use mine for part of my live techno set up- I espescially like the granular looper to add glitch style effects, I have the KP3 + so I can build up loops using the 4 loop buttons should I want to, it's something I haven't really used much as yet.

I got my KP3+ second hand a few years back to replace my KP mini, I like using it for live effects in addition to the effects on my Digitakt- I like using a bit of granular to glitch things particularly and love the fact that I can just put a cheap microphone in and speak into it adding effects, again, great for a live situation. The live techno performer Saytek uses a Koass Pad, still, and he gets lots of gigs all over the world!

Accidentally just found this video and your channel. KP3+ lover and owner of two myself. What a wonderful machine from the 90s! I have not tried the new one yet. I've never used an SP404 either. If @korg would just bring back modern versions of the kaossilator and KP3, in this form, my goodness... The mini's and the newest DIY kit aren't the same (though admittedly I've never used them either). Why ruin a good thing? If you gotta do something weird @korg, how about a KP Volca?

i use my kp3 for vocals during live performances. it's very nice to just be able to have this giant reverb swell for just one sentence of the song, or to do some megaphone/ old telephone effects to spice up your set without having to buy all these expensive vocal pedals that can do only one thing very good. the kp3 is pretty okay at a lot of things

Fairfield Circuitry Shallow Waters is the pedal for this
@CLaw-tb5gg
@CLaw-tb5gg 4 ай бұрын
If you're trying to simulate a really grungy tape, there's something real tape does that no tape plugin I've ever found does, which is curious (I've only ever seen it on a guitar pedal, the Fairfield Shallow Water). Real tape, especially really shitty real tape, tends to preserve treble better the louder the signal is, so quieter sounds will tend to be more muffled. You can especially hear it on old recordings from the 50s and earlier. I've found you can mimic the effect with careful use of envelope filters, but denoisers tend to work best. When you do it, it suddenly sounds a lot more realistic.
