And what nobody seems to adress: The operatiing systems are stuck at the 25th floor for almost 2 decades now. There is almost no progress in terms of devlopment or application depth. Software industry reinvents the same stuff for decades now and changed to a subscription based money machine to pay all those many developers who seem to not do that much. Especially the absurdity of changes of the design of the GUI shows how stuck the industry is. Take OS X 10.5 or Windows 7 ... these are good systems and the GUI is really OK. Take the current Windows / MacOS ... and they look different but there is nothing that is really so much better. Little elements here and there - but also even steps back. You can see this even better in the Linux desktop realm. You can change the desktops and every system has some adantages here and disadvantages there... but overall its just a GETTING USED to the system process for every user. And now they push machine learning like hell... cause there is nothing they have in mind. There is no 30th, 40th, 50th floor. A.I. probably will just take away many jobs... and thats kinda it. You could also say the IT industry is a grown industry now. You can just look to other grown industries like the car industry what they accomplished in the last 30 years. Not much. Our economical system is totally unable to deal with grown up technology that dont have any revolution in sight and even dont have much of evolution. Its kind of sad when you think about elements that need a huge step and which just are ignored. The car industry ignored non-fossile technology too long. The IT ignores security and privacy too long. Just check the mail system that is still the backbone of most online systems. Its soooo old and BAD old - and yet nobody changes it. There are deep issues in our world with our technology. The technology is not there to make lifes better but to sell more shit. This is not what our society should be constructed like. Unfortunately... Steve Jobs wasnt a guy who could see this. Like most entrepeneurs dont see this. Lets see what A.I. will bring. I assume that it will crash the system. Actually I HOPE it will. And a man like Steve Jobs would have not changed anything about this issue. So not that revolutionary in my opinion.

This video is a perfect example of the state of Apple's chaos and disfunction, and Steve Jobs' calm, steady leadership breaking through. I can't imagine the cringe and rage that Steve was holding in having to watch that reprehensible demo of the 20th Anniversary Macintosh (and Gil Amelio's annoying clapping throughout this entire keynote). This shows you what Apple was and what it became under Steve Jobs. I don't know how he made such a massive undertaking look easy, but he did it, and I thank him for it. RIP Legend!
