I’d just turned 22, two days before the attacks. I’m British, and had visited the States in 1995 with my dad and sis. We stayed in NYC for two days, and the first place we visited was the WTC. South Tower. We went to the observation deck, and onto the roof. Bloody amazing place. I still have my ticket stub from the visit and receipts from the Skyline Cafe that was there. The attacks were mind-blowingly horrific. I will never forget the day. I just happened to switch channels from a film I was watching and there on just one channel at that point, was the Towers on fire. This was about half an hour after the planes hit. Me, my sis and dad all watched in utter horror and disbelief the entire day. We had to stop early evening and put Toy Story on, just to escape for a while.
