What a beautiful scene, played by two brilliant actresses!

The number of parents who genuinely respond to the news that their child has been SA'd by simply denying it would probably break you psychologically. Especially when you realize that in virtually EVERY case of child abuse, the perpetrator is an immediate family member or friend of the family. I have known people be disowned and put out on the street for speaking against what their fathers did to them.

Viola Davis @ 2:56 is a masterclass in milliseconds. I let out an audible sound against my will. That's how you evoke emotion. Superb acting by both.

Imagine the generations worth of desperation on your shoulders that molestation is the lesser of two evils in order to protect your child and hope you’re giving them a future you never had. I’m not saying she’s right, but am not saying she’s wrong either. Sad af

Viola is a better actress the Meryl. The sad fact is they won’t ever say it because she is a black woman!!! We can never be better than them!! Viola is my hero!!!!!!!

Besides the acting, which is phenomenal, viola Davis character makes a devastatingly accurate and essential plea regarding the sad plight society has forced her son in. Her son wants to be loved, NEEDS TO BE LOVED!!! He’s human for gods sake. And society has thrown him to the dogs to be eaten alive for no other reason than his existence alone. And the plight viola Davis’s character is expressing its a real one that she rightfully understands and navigates through because of her incredible love for her son in a despicable world that even his own father wants him dead. Homophobia angers me to no end. This scene is POWERFULLY done.

Viola Davis’s acting is so powerful. You look at her eyes and you see a woman trying to protect her boy; you see fear, someone who has passed thru suffering. You see an older woman who has been beaten down by racial prejudice, sexual harassment, has seen physical abuse. Her posture, her facial expression, her worry lines… You believe what she is in her role. Her acting is beyond anyone’s I’ve ever, ever seen. I have such respect for her.

Doubt.....with Meryl Streep ...Viola Davis....and Phillip Seymour Hoffman ....Rip ....this movie is about choices...... Right or wrong choices ....from the beginning to end....When the teacher sister chose to tell Mother Superior (Meryl) about the boy behavior upon return from the priest office....and she decided to go after the father to find out the truth....the choice the Priest made which drove him to his "protective" or harassing behavior???....the choice the mother does to keep him in school regardless of the possible illicit liaison between the boy/priest......her questions and answers in these 7:41 minutes are the core and the thesis of the movie ....of the madness ...the tragedy ....and yet the ugliness of the reality of the situation.....it cringes to the soul to see a situation like this...because the boy's father may kill him if he finds out what's really happening....because of the boys nature...a subtle way to say "because of his sexual orientation"...Therefore the mother chooses to keep him until June....the boy was almost killed in another school....And at the end she tells to the Mother Superior that she will go to court and stand with whoever was good to her son....The title Doubt doesn't mean that the sister had any doubts...she was sure and convinced in her heart he was a cheat....her doubts was about encountering a man in the cloth who was a pervert...about faith...about believing in "Holy men""...about the system and the church...
