I hated the ending it really smashed the image of the beautiful drama

I loved the drama, but got really disappointed at the ending scene. Horrible! The ML and his bodyguards dying doesn't make sense as they were portrayed along the whole drama as extremely powerful and skilled warriors, basically undefeatable.

I loved this series except half way through 39 my whole family turned it off and we all refused to watch the rest of 39 or 40! We absolutely loved the cast! All the men and women in the show are just so beautiful! My family buried a beautiful young woman today with an 8 year old daughter left alone. - life is sad enough I don’t want to watch heartbreaking endings ! I refuse to watch them. To Americans the lead was very, very handsome! Everything I’ve watched from China has been to sad! What happened to upbeat entertainment?

I felt like it was hinted at him dying, with the scene where he combed her hair. Think it was supposed to show a premonition of him dying to her and when you see him put her gift to him in the mouth and him looking up to forward the sky, I think its him making his peace with dying and his wishful hopes to see her again is carried with him as his passes. So think its supposed to be his ghost returning on the horse in similar way to how we saw her see Jiang Li's ghostly figure, I think it was intentionally made vague so people could imagine a somewhat happy ending while it was intended to be a bittersweet ending.

The truth is they messed up with S2 due to incomprenhsible changes in the original story which didnt go well with audience. Secondly sequnce of events and changing the core matter was disastrous and off the main story. They deleted many imp events which strenghtens the plot of LYF.God only knows whats the intention of doing this to S2. S1 was quite adherent to original novel given minor changes. To show Jing in better light to promote 1:1CP they deliberately deleted XLs scenes and didnt focus on his selfless love and the way he tried to fulfill XYs wishes by addressing her childhood issues n traumas due to which she lost this wonderful n beautiful love of XL. Drama XY is shown very insensitive and indifferent to XL in S2 perticularly which is different than novel.After his death she was in exteme pain and shock which mase her leave everything to go to Ocean in his memory.and in S2 she hardly shows any emotions more than half a minute. I dont want to say any thing about Jing as there is no charecter developement pf his in either novel or drama.DWs acting is very so so n made it more dull n boring to watch him. CX s role is strong in novel being a mail ML but drama has ruined his charecter quite badly in S2.His supressed emotions n angst was not taken in account to show him as good emperore.But Zang wanyi is a good actor n did what he cd do with given limitations. Lastly the best was Tan Jianci who did complete justice to his role as XL/FFB and performed this originally outstanding and popular charecter to make it more unforgetable in everyones mind. We watched LYF for TJC and XL.XL n XYs scenes are undoubtedly electrifying with thier great chemistry.Rest i dont want to say anything.

Meanwhile, we are waiting for the English translated version of the novel so we can read the full story

Jing/Shiqi was always the right man for xaioyao he was thoroughly kind and caring towards her throughout the drama .. he was conflicted at times but truly loved her .. her brother was forever trying to break them up .. and the demon was never going to be husband material… all three loved xaioyao without a doubt but Jing was the right man in the end .. they could have had more romantic moments together i think before the breakup .. xaioyao stubbornness and self righteous attitude took its toll on Jing .. and he suffered seriously because of that ..what everyone has forgotten is that Jing was the man behind the scenes helping Xuan become King .. but only Fenglong new about that .. because jing didn’t want recognition or fame .. he only wanted xaioyao ..

They should have casted Tushan Jing better if they wanted us viewers to actually care about him more than the other two male leads (or care about him at all lol). I know it’s subjective but the other two male leads are more good looking than him, and objectively better actors. How did sis end up with the most mid character?!?! Xiang Liu might have been a sociopath, but he gave everything for her and their chemistry was THE BEST. Justice for Xiang Liu, he deserved to be end game instead of that other dude no one cared about :(

I wanted xiang liu to win over xiao yao🙂.to me tushan jing seemed like a side character.
