Something about this movie lead me to see this movie twice on opening day. Im in the ❤ it camp. Plot holes and contrived conveniences dont make a movie "bad" IMHO. Its a perfect 90s style thriller, which is the decade that M. Night may be stuck in. For some reason, this reminded me of Red Eye as far as plot holes and conveniences. Great review, and I subscribed 👍

Regarding this "coming from the mind of James Gunn", while true he made some changes to the lineup, this was based on the Creature Commandos comics that started back in the 80s and were revived in the 2000s and re-revived in 2011 during The New 52.

Absolutely, while I’m not as familiar with the comic book. I am aware of its existence. What I meant by that was this animation this style of story and characters are something James Gunn usually tackles and does well.

We were just discussing that! Hughie is literally dealing with losing his dad and then being sexually assaulted and it’s played for a joke! It could have been used to develop Hughie as a character but once again here’s another joke. And what was up with 80% of that episode being BDSM. Not to kink shame but come on!!

I have never seen anything like this before on KZfaq (unfortunately the video you suggested is exactly the same); it’s a strange issue. What do you guys record on? This was a better episode but the writing is still so hit and miss. Firecracker exposing Starlight's abortion would've hit harder if she didnt just literally admit to statutory rape on live tv?? And the fact neither Frenchie or her other friends comforted her after Firecracker exposing her accidentally harming someone.

Yeah! that was a big curve ball the only reason the abortion was even as impactful at first is we thought she might not have told Hughie and that might have hurt them. But he knew so that wasn't as big as we had thought, but statutory rape now that's crazy!!!

@@KnoWhereEntertainmentI wasn't a fan of that angle. Realistically firecracker committing statutory rape would be way more serious than Starlight having an abortion and her credibility would be gone. Admitting to it instead of claiming it was photoshop or deepfakes was a goofy move by the writers.

100% agree there are some things that are lacking in the writing department! Like how Ashley was scared about a floater she left in Homelanders toilet! Like just go flush it!

The political narrative is not only weak but it just to on the nose! That doesn’t stop us from loving The Boys this just happens to be one of the weaker seasons.

I understand that but the co-host on the left literally stated that The Boys has not been political which was just flat out not true. I think the commentary has always been quite on the nose but so far it has been presented in a much more sillier and goofy fashion which can be a turn off.

I agree that’s why we do these reviews we don’t always agree and don’t always have the same opinion but we both have a love for The Boys. I agree The Boys has always been political but it’s just been done almost like a parody of what the show use to be. But that doesn’t mean I don’t find enjoyment in it just feel this season is a weaker than the others but then again this is only the 3rd episode so I hold out faith!
