Very helpful comparison! I am yet undecided. Each having its own pros/cons. W Haven an added pro is its easier to relieve yourself w/o getting out of the tent and accessing things on the ground or under the tent. But comfort versatility, price and light weight Amok may trump its extra set up time and less storm protection.🤷🏼‍♂️ Depends on your priorities. Amok in-tent adjustability is impressive.

Howdy from a fellow Fort Worthian! Been looking at 5th wheel RV’s, as I didn’t think this was really possible. I’ve got a ‘19 Grand Design Reflection 297RSTS travel trailer. My RV came from the factory with a 2” receiver but they specifically state that you can only carry up to 300 lbs. max, and it is not designed for towing. We’re wanting to start carrying a golf cart to our camping destinations. After 3 years, are you still happy and feel secure with your mod?

I have 3 Wolverine Tuff Bottles that I have been using for a year or two that have been great for me. Very similar concept. On this current camping tour one got a small cut in it and I used some silicone caulk I keep in the camper for possible leaks, and it has held up for two months so far. I use them as back up water supply, keep them in the shower pan while driving, also as a bit of weight distribution while towing the camper :)

I bought the Amok Draumr 5.0 last fall. Otherwise it's fine and dandy, but using a sleeping bag inside it is somewhere between annoying and impossible. Even a slight incline may have you slide to the head or foot end of the hammock. Changing your position, like bending your knees, moves your center of mass and may end up you sliding down. A quilt is perfectly fine though, as long as it's not between you and the hammock acting as a "sled".
@LifeWithKernelLee
@LifeWithKernelLee 7 күн бұрын
@@promeworks yes, I had a friend try it out and she ended up on her head during the night. Myself, I’ve never had that issue. But it is cumbersome getting in and out.

I use the DD extra long underquilt. I use a couple of short branch swing straps over the ridgeline to anchor the carabiners and it does pretty well. Also swapped out the built in rainfly for the 12ft OneWind hammock tarp. Much lighter and better coverage than the one that comes with it (rode out a heavy thunderstorm a couple of weeks ago with no issues).

Great review which gave me the information I need to up grade my XL pad. After a trip a couple weeks I was going to sell the haven Because of the pad issues of leaks and the taco . Do you think the ToPo will hold air for the night the Haven pads I have had will not. The Haven pad is not available to buy until late September and the ToPo is available now . Price and pack size are not a big issue as I’m riding a BMW GS I just would like an up graded pad as I have an upcoming week long trip . Thanks for all the information .

Thanks for the video! I 100% agree with you, they nailed it. When i first set them both up together in my backyard i still liked the thermarest more. I decided to take the topo lux with my on my kayak trip the following weekend. My buddy had his true level and i laid in his for a moment to compare again. He didnt have his as inflated as mine. I got so used to the original and topo lux that they needed to be FULLY inflated. The new true level it is better to have it soft, basically just as much as the pump allows, that made it soo much more comfortable! The new true level will be my go to now and i have a suspicion it will be warmer than the topo as well but that remains to be seen.

Having had two Haven mattresses with this issue already, i couldnt risk my money on this one not working either. At least with Thermarest, I know Im getting a proven product that also packs small for my back country trips. At least now I can use my Safari with confidence and more frequency as it truly is an awesome system. I hope the perfected this mattress and the quality control.
