Um...the artificial reader mispronounced "fileting" (near the very beginning) in a rather unfortunate way.

Treats, pat's, scritches, toys, kisses and hugs. That's how humanity managed to subdue these fascinating creatures.

That was kinda dumb... the humans didn't do it, the planet did it. The planet rejected every other species that touched down on it untill the humans arrived. Clearly it was all about intention. The planet accepted a species whose spirit aligned with it's own.

@@ALLSciFi88 Ohhh ok, I just read that "All of my stories are original." part, I didn't notice it before. *I* *am* a subscriber, I do like your channel but I just assumed you were uploading for others, that it was a colab or flexi channel with multiple writers contributing. So it's your story huh? Sorry for being blunt. This story is quite good... interesting. It's just that as I was listening/reading I formed the opinion early that it was the planet doing it (permitting and engineering it), then I asked myself "why?" and that was my logical conclusion because evolution or DNA manipulation is dictated by a force outside of the organism. I do believe *our* *planet* is more an organism rather than just a rock, an organism hosting a googolplex of life forms, and that the evolution of Earth's life forms is only because Earth controls and permits it. What doesn't work is expired and what does is permitted to progress, and that "survival of the fittest" and "nature always finds a way" is part of it, and that "nature" is in fact our planet's spirit. Carry on, continue writing, and NEVER EVER let a critic sway you from your course. You do you.👍🏻

I like the story, but from no on? I refuse to listen to ANY story done with an AI voice. Back in the day, we had a way to "modify" the wording/spelling so that even voice synthesizers would pronounce the wording. It was called phonetics. SGT = Sargent = sar/ghent. (An example.) Maybe the old should supplant the new? Needless to say, feck this schnitzel, I am OUT! Add one down vote!

This was not a direct comment on you. But maybe look into the use of using phonetics in the modern AI. Otherwise you would just do spam in a can, "synth voice."

Hearing "I can hear them, they're inside of me." the Mission Commander immediately pulls his key and with his second in command launches a 100mt warhead towards the Valkyrie before going to lunch.

These stories would make a good chapter out of a larger piece of work but don't stand on their own so well. There is no context to fit this story into and little to no worldbuilding or character development. They also don't introduce anything new like most great short stories, they could fit into just about any space opera novel.

Not a bad story. Shame they had to ruin it by using an A.I. Voice that can't speak properly. 4 out of 10. Next time use a real person who knows what sounds words make.

People don’t believe me, but when I smile at animals, they smile back. It’s really cool. I’ve had ravens warn me away from danger, a bear sat with me in my camp site; until I saw it, monkeys in Malaysia brought me money, I bowed to an elephant and he kneeled and gave me a lift, and a cat led me to an elderly woman who had fallen. Critters are cool.

If humans can keep bears as pets, so I dont see reason why not domesticate alien cudle... animals. Give us enough time and we will domesticate even xenomorph.

My ( at that time) 4 year old neice: * points to a wolf in the zoo* " Uncle, what's that?" Me: * smiles and pats her head* " That, my little one, is one of the many species of wild puppies around the world, known as a wolf." My neice: " can I pet it?" Me: * nods no* " Not until you learn how to be an animal handler at the zoo, a park game warden, or maybe a vet that works with exotic animals." My neice: * thinks* " ... can you pet it?" Me: * grins mischeviously* " Nah. But I wanna. Soooooo bad. " XD

We humans are definitely freaks of nature to look at the most viscous of creatures and say "I want that as a pet" people may be lost in doing that but by God once we say that's our pet we will make it our pet
