As a swede ”en värme” is incorrect that would be like saying ”a heat” instead you just say värme

As I'm sure you can see, the definite article is in parentheses for this exact reason. Knowing if the noun goes with "en" or "ett" helps the learner figure what the noun will look like in its definite form and for other uses, such if it goes with "vilken" or "vilket". That's why the countable nouns are written with the article and the uncountable nouns are written with the articles in parentheses, both in Swedish and in English. In addition to this, "värme" and "heat" can go with the article: "Det var en värme de aldrig känt tidigare." - "It was a heat they had never felt before." I hope this helps!
