Always glad to hear how things are going. Kudos on the flooring, it looked fantastic. It was a bigger job than I thought it would be and I just did one office. Love the Vyvanse call out, it’s a game changer.

update: it is SUPER easy to swap the lenses out -- a company called APEX sells replacements, and they are very easy to pop out these old ones and put in the new

@RCodyWanner I found it, I think you mentioned it in another video 👌🏽 also, does higher shutter angle yield better results? Trying to get that "locked" slow motion with 24p on 30p timeline
@RCodyWanner
@RCodyWanner 19 күн бұрын
could just be a matter of speaking, but a shutter angle of 180° or lower will yield better results. its easier for me to talk about it in terms of shutter speed since i shoot on a mirrorless camera -- so ideally you would capture your clip in 120fps, with a shutter speed of 1/240 (180°) or even higher, like 1/480 (90°) when you drop that clip into your 30fps timeline, you will slow it down to 25% that's going to give you a super smooth slow motion. then when you locked on stabilize the the higher/faster shutter speed will have reduced the motion blur on the original clip, which makes the locked on effect look better. test it out ahead of your shoot if possible, so you know you like the way it looks. let me know if that all makes sense

It does! Im trying to retain 4k detail if possible, but will practice dropping down to 1080 and playing with compression. The help is much appreciated 🙏🏼

I could never daily vlog (though now I'm considering it, damn you!) but if I don't set myself ridiculous deadlines I just don't do things, and then I feel rubbish. So yay deadlines!

I also feel like a daily vlog for a creative is the ultimate way to build discipline. Even if you didn't post the videos but you went thru the motions of picking up the camera everyday, filming, editing, etc. that would go a long way (especially a beginner) to learn and work on multiple facets of filmmaking.
@RCodyWanner

that is the thing i forgot to put on the pro list -- how INTENSELY well you learn your gear and your editing system -- my camera became an extension of my body in 2018, and editing was as effortless as typing an email

Cody, I always enjoy your energy and encouragement. I think I found your channel right around the end of your year long vlog. The only time I was able to stick to a daily vlog was a trip to new York in 2021. I know it was because I was so excited to be there and in the moment that I wasn’t distracted or self-conscious. Last December I tried Vlogmas- it lasted exactly one day! 🤣

Cody, I'm definitely feeling the day by day tension of trying to shoot daily but also the excitement of that, I'm shooting 30 shorts for the entire month of June and if I forget to shoot a short and its getting to my self imposed deadline it's like an itch in my brain that I can only scratch by creating... Love your content Cody ✌️

I followed the instructions, but there is only one thing I noticed. My clip is somewhat zoomed in and is no longer in the original scale once I've done the tracking as outlined in the video here. Is this avoidable?
@RCodyWanner
@RCodyWanner 26 күн бұрын
so you'll need at least a little zoom in, to give the clip room to move around in the frame -- but create a new compound clipped with everything there and then zoom that compound clip out a little bit and see if that looks better to you
