Im sorry....but aint no way you cool with thanassis over austin rivers.....thanassis has to be the worst case of nepotism out of the players here. The actual act of what Doc did was wild but Austin Rivers was legit at the time and a justified lottery pick and was on his 3rd rookie yr in a trade for Reggie Bullock ....Bronny is pretty much gifted this position moreso than anyone else (I mean, how do the LAKERS draft a kid that barely played last yr and had a cardiac arrest event+surgery the same yr....NO ONE without the last name James would be afforded such grace after that).....TBS, I still think Bronny can become a usable role player, but as Jaylen Brown mentioned....He's not a pro

@@Heleous281 thansis is like giannis’ ud. Austin rivers played more minutes from his dad who was also the gm and coach, so austin can make more money than 3 better/rotational guys. If you’re using austin, totally talented to get drafted, he was number 1 in high school. Bronny was number 20 in high school and was ranked higher than reed (i think reed is better tho, i’m not that wild). Also to be honest bronny went 55th, if he was top 20 id get the beef but who’s spot is he taking? Also, tbh there’s been players who have been drafted while playing less if we wanna get techincal. Udonis haslem is good nepo? Thats dirty. He was undrafted and work his ass off to become a valuable role player for the heat. Even when his on court production declines the heat keep extending him for his role on the locker room. Dont call him nepo, you're devaluing his achievement.

Four 2nd rounders from the Knicks? I supposed since it is just a pick swap for the 1st. If I were the Jazz though, I'd keep him. Him and Dereck Lively II, have very similar games, they play a role. He just needs to be surrounded by guys that are more offensively gifted.

Kings fans have been so abused they’re psyched about getting a guy who’s game hasn’t translated to winning basketball in like 5-6 years. Even when Demar was younger, he crippled a contending Raptors team by not being able to shoot efficiently and being a lazy defender. Enjoy that Sac town. He will make you worse. Toronto immediately got better the minute he left town because of Kawhi but I bet they still would’ve been better without Derozan and no Kawhi. The dude is a black hole of a player.

The thing you failed to mention was the Suns were 21-40 under coach Datoni the year before Steve Nash got there. Almost everyone who played with Nash on those Suns teams benefited from playing with him. He was the engine so therefore he could be considered the most valuable. If we are talking about being the best in the NBA or not why talk about the top 5 guys and not just give it to MJ every year or Kobe or Lebron or KD. They always the best.

Rudy was more valuable defensively to the twolves than anyone else was to any other team. He took control of the defense and did it basically perfectly throughout the regular season, bringing them to the best defense in the league and the #1 seed for most of the season. A lot of people say "Oh but wemby has more blocks" but realistically it doesnt matter when one is leading their teams defense to the highest it can possibly be and the other is getting good stats

Wemby took the Spurs from the worst defense in the last 5 years to an average defensive team. Rudy is not more impactful than Wemby, Wemby was not only a better shot blocker, but was more versatile, he could guard perimeter players, and he was frankly more intimidating than Gobert. The only thing Goburt had over Wemby is better defensive teammates.

Completely agree you can't play Brook in todays NBA unless you surround him with athletes. Brook and Dame together makes no sense and limits defensive schemes to be playing drop almost exclusively which teams will exploit in the postseason. Challenge is we need a big to pair with Giannis who can shoot, a team with that kind of asset isn't going to be trading for Lopez.

Honestly, the Lakers should swap Rui for Dlo in that trade and see if Joe takes it. They get the trade assets, they can build up Rui's value this year and flip him at the trade deadline - I guarantee someone will want him. As for Gabe, you have this year and next yr he is an expiring contract. Since the Nets arent predicted to win this year and they are entering a rebuild dumping Cam now (due to injury concerns) for Rui makes a lot of sense. Rui can be a good contract or he can be a piece in a rebuild.

With 6 or 7 games left Kings were right where the Mavs were. Mavs got hott, Kings did not. Im not saying this move makes them front runners but they did improve. Not to mention hes the biggest name player that Kings have gotten since C Webb, and hes happy to be there. The Kings cant just wait for stars to appear out of no where like some other teams can. You have to take a shot to make it when your not a desirable spot that the media loves, and thats what theyre doing.

I agree they're not winning the chip, but you just never know with injuries. They can have a pacers type of run from last year, that's a significant improvement from the play-in. I'd be happy with that if I were a kings fan + Fox wanted him and they have to keep him happy

Waiting on jury duty so cant listen to your points... but i disagree with the title. Losing the pick swap in 2031 will hurt most likely. But doesnt matter right now. Losing barnes doesnt hurt at all. We didnt have to get much to get derozan... which is huge. Even if this doesnt work out, kings wont regret it. Kings were never going to fix their size or defense this year. So, they doubled down on offense. Dero is a fine fit next to fox and sabonis. He can hit a spot up 3 when he needs to, and likes long 2s. He can also gst to the free throw line and make them, which we struggled with. Really excited for the potential here.

I do agree with you it doesn’t make the kings a championship team, but he is another asset with an extremely good contract. If keegan develops into a star, then the kings can become a championship team. And if not, then hopefully they are both assets to trade for another piece, hopefully they won’t have to. It does give the kings a perspective of what can be if the kings have three legitimate scorers. Og anunoby woukd have been ideal last year. I would have liked BI also. But demar is not a bad alternative. And I agree, it does not make them a better defensive team, but their defense did improve a lot last year. Just be in the top 15 and it gives them a chance.
