Exactly the type of video to help someone decide the bike to buy. I have the regular Classic with about 12000 miles now. I ride the same way you do. Took a 40 year break from riding, my last bike being a 67 Moto Guzi V7 bagger. I'm 74 now and had to keep the weight manageable, yet still get out on the open road and keep up with traffic . Took it to Texas last fall where the speed limit is 75-80 on most roads and had no issues! I do have lowers which solved the helmet buffeting at high speeds. Grip puppies and a throttle lock and palm rest all help with throttle hand fatigue. Took it in the mountains in the Ozarks last month and shined up the bottom of the floor boards. Recent Shinko 777 tires stick like glue in the curves. Bottom line , this bike is as near perfect for all around riding at a reasonable price.

I have a 2007 Vulcan 900 had it 3 yrs now and love it ,white walls and chrome . I am currently looking at a gently used Vaquero or Voyager , Thanks for a great review ,you have done a great job explaining the ride and the bike in general so thank you .I'm liking it even more now. When I get mine I will take it for a ride from Toronto to Florida on it and park it at my winter place , to cold to ride here in the winter ,I'll keep my 900 in Toronto for the summer . Cheers from Toronto .

For the audio if you can find it, get the Kawasaki 30 pin Ipod Adapter for that left storage cubby then get a ipod 30 pin USB receiver I have a CHOOCL-1000 I got on Amazon. I love my 2012 Voyager. I had a '86 Voyager XII (Year one) before. The only downfall I find with the 2012 is the lack of Kawasaki aftermarket items. Most you have to buy Harley things and adapt them. Overdrive 1 (5th gear) I stay in til I hit about 70. Then 2nd overdrive (6th gear) fits perfectly. Especially on flat stretches. I usually keep my RPMS around 2700 - 3000. I've done several long haul trips from Buffalo, NY to TN (10 - 12hr rides) and I'm comfortable with the stock seating. The 50s dash is beautiful.Just wish they'd upgrade the sound system to Bluetooth.

So state farm does dumb here. And have to wait 7 days for insurance to take effect to get my plate. I could not get an insurance binder to get plates earlier. Auto's insurance takes effect that day but not motorcycle. Got it titled but that meant sellers plate was no good. I understand the wait to get something legal due to bureaucracy.

Oh wow, that’s even worse. Insurance kicks in here in Florida immediately, but for me the hassle was DMV paperwork and dealing with an out-of-state registered bike. Problems are everywhere I guess.

We already bought 2 used motorcycles recently. Better than 24k for a new one. The wife's has been dropped oh well. It's just a 3000$ sportster. And she may drop it herself also. It ain't an investment. It's a vehicle that will be used as a tool to get places. Garage kept. That was something I worry about. Was it kept in a garage and not ran? I asked about use when buying my Buell. If they sit a long time even in garage issues come up. I am not worried about services with lower mileage stuff. This is not an auto. Even 20k miles on a bike is only 3-4 oil changes. Most auto's I don't buy till 50-60k. Last owner of my motorcycle road it 500 miles. Once again we are talking a cheap bike. But you don't want to be broke down on a 2 track fending off a bear waiting for help. 581$ if we want to have new tires put on wife's sportster. They are old but not used. That don't mean the front hasn't sat weeks with a flat in winter. I test rode my bike on dirt roads. We look for southern bikes. We live in the rust belt. I had the Harley mechanic look at wife's sportster across from my work. I trust him. Suspension was something I looked at. My forks were rebuilt at dealer with documentation. The roads here suck and I ride down a lot of dirt roads. Mine came with new turn signals not installed. No headlights and half dead battery. Already had one of the new headlight bulbs burn out on my bike. The ground came loose on wife's. Mine is my daily driver if I don't need to haul materials in truck.
