Doing quests unquided is rewarding but some of the quests require classic Sierra text-adventure moonlogic. An example of this is lighting the candles in the room to dry the fuze instead of lighting fires in the room. Some veteran creators have taken on the challenge of never using a guide and documenting their herculean efforts so don't be too afraid to consult a guide if you get stuck for a long time.

Welcome! If there's any advice I can give you is to not worry about min-maxing or efficiency, or people yelling at you to be efficient. This game is designed around just doing whatever sounds fun to you, and as long as it's giving you xp in a skill then you're still making progress. It doesn't matter how effeciently you level if you want to quit the game afterwards lol. I literally chopped trees and did little else until I was LV 87 in Woodcutting and got the pet, and I had a great time just selling logs and talking to the people around me that also were chilling chopping trees.

I just accomplished this on the switch. The trick is to make two columns of two wall pieces. Then put two more wall pieces going across. You want there to be a middle section of two top pieces that do NOT have a wall piece on the bottom. Then center your shelf on the two top pieces (with no bottom pieces) and place your column on it. I wish I could put a picture of what I’m talking about here because I know I’m not explaining it well. Not having a bottom piece on your building structure gives you room for the floor piece to snap to the column but not the wall piece. It’s tricky but it CAN be done. It took me about an hour to make and decorate mine.

There is unfortunately tension. Generally its held by a lot of the folks that didn't like certain updates for one reason or the other and yes there were quite a few unpopular changes. However generally RS3 players don't care about OSRS comments since that game has been dealt with a lot of abuse and the folks complaining most likely have not given the current iteration of RuneScape 3 an honest try without looking at it without having Nostalgia Lenses influencing them. Both games are honestly really enjoyable for different reasons. OSRS has a great early game and a very active community where the Developers interact with the community before any changes happen. RS3 has a great mid game with probably the better Ironman version of the game. Both of the end games are very enjoyable since they require an insane amount of skill to do the end game content. OSRS also has better Content Creators while RS3 has just way more content to do still. Hope you enjoy them both!

FYI the average concurrent player count for RS3 is 25k. For OSRS, it's 130k . OSRS peaks at 150k most months and during special events it has surpassed 200k for an hour or so. Therefore OSRS is by far the most popular. OSRS is my favourite game of all time; so I hope you enjoy it. The community is amazing so you'll make loads of friends. Welcome back! :D

The only reason there's contention between OSRS and RS3 is because of OSRS player with rose tented goggles. And because we know objectively OSRS is better in all aspects. If you're using Runelite, you can install the addon 117HD and it give OSRS a fresh graphics overhaul without getting rid of the style that we all love. *edit- Yeah everyone has a black sky box, but you can change it in the 117 HD plug-in to blue sky or a few other optoins. Also, fun fact, the quest you're doing was a Halloween event turned in to a quest.

No matter what option you choose at the start of tutorial island you have to do it all anyways 😂 Skull prevention is so you don't get a PvP skull. To get a PvP skull you attack another player in the wilderness or PvP world first. Skull prevention takes the option away if you attacking first, it's mostly so you don't get tricked to skull and lose all your items in PvP simply. Middle mouse click is so nice, it almost makes this game a one-handed game 😂 You can't change arrows to anything else with the official clinent. I recommend you install RuneLite which you can do through the Jagex Launcher in the select client drop down box. It's approved by Jagex, it has a lot of extra features and plugins and quality of life features. You can use the plugin "key remapping" there to change it to wasd and have a 'press enter to chat' option etc. Middle mouse is the way to do though. It's not your graphics, it's the standard skybox that is black and weird. With RuneLite you can access a few graphic enhancements such as 117HD plugin which is HD textures. GPU plugin makes everything prettier and smoother but maintains the standard textures and can add skyboxes to get rid of the blackness or fog same as 117HD. Roofs are very atmospheric but I always recommend turning off roofs so you can see inside buildings better. One of the best resources we have is the osrs wiki, it's probably the best game wiki ever made. If you've heard anyone say 'just Google it' or 'the is a Google game', they mean look it up on the wiki. You can put stuff in Google and add osrs on the end to get to the wiki page quickly lol. For quests, you click on the quest in your quest list and it will give you hints and storyline. If you prefer a more guided experience the wiki and KZfaq ha e quest guides. Checking the chat box can be useful, it can tell you that potion buffs are running out, kill counts, boss kill times, but probably more important in the case of the 'use knife on door debacle 2024' and the 'use tinderbox on everything except the bomb scandal' it'll say "nothing interesting happens". The game could really better explain how items interact with eachother, do light the bomb you use the tinderbox on it, but it's also logical to start a fire next to it. The classic beginner quests are cooks assistant and sheep shearer, murder mystery feels like more of an advanced puzzle solving beginner quest. 1:28:01 the British took over for the word 'here' Turn on your run energy! You start walking when it gets to 0 and you have to click it on again. Leveling up Agility makes run energy regen faster, carrying heavy items makes your run energy deplete faster. You 100% was correct with hearth, ironically thad was the time to use the knife. You know it's good gaming when you need to get a piece of paper. When moving the mirror, you could have right clicked on the tile behind it and click walk-here, then you wouldn't have had to click further away from it, right click will bring up all options for where you cursor is at, some items/NPCs overlap so it can be useful. Gielenor is the whole the land, then you have regions such as Misthalin, Morytania, Asgarnia, then you have cities such as Lumbridge, Varrock, Falador. It's like London is in England is in United Kingdom lmao. This was great to watch. RuneScape doesn't really hold your hand and you had to figure it out. The ADHD energy is real, I should do combat but I will gather then you get roped into a quest. Adventurer Jon will keep you on the right track for the early game and give you some upgrades, he's pretty good. The nice thing is that you can be what you want or do what you want, you can just spend your while time questing and slaying or just cutting down trees. Later quests habe skill level requirements so there is a reason to level up. You need levels for better gear, tools, weapons, make better food, craft better items, mine better ores, trees, fish, hunt, slay, spells, potions. There's a lot you can do and I advise to do what you enjoy, you'll probably get really in to it and then from there you expand your knowledge. Happy to help with anything, this is a lot of info lol

You did go through this tutorial faster, but to be fair there's quite a bit of overlap in the basic controls with RS3 so you weren't completely green going into this one lol. Loved you stumbling into one of the quests where they parody pop culture stuff. I don't think this quest is in RS3, so it was new for me to see. From what I understand, OSRS has a popular plugin that guides you through quests so you don't really have to even think about it or pay attention. It's kind of refreshing seeing someone figure it out for themselves like we did way back in the day! Your comment about feeling like you're in an escape room was interesting to me because there's some OSRS content creators that do runescape "escape room" accounts where you have to have pretty strong game knowledge to figure out how to solve it using the seemingly random items in the inventory and levels the account has etc. Could be interesting viewing at some point! I love them even though I don't play OSRS. Fair warning, since you said you didn't like looking things up, both OSRS and RS3 are VASTLY improved with the use of their respective wikis. Not even just for the quests, but it's just such an amazing resource for figuring out how to achieve whatever goals you set for yourself. Just something to keep in mind if you're going to commit to playing for a long time. You can certainly do it without the wiki, but be prepared for a lot of trial and error learning! If you're looking to do a quest in RS3, might I recommend Rune Mysteries? I think it doesn't have any prerequisites and it gives you a little bit of a look into the lore of the world without being too challenging. Or you can just do whatever quest you stumble across first lol. I'll watch regardless!
@brookesbits9 күн бұрын
Thank you so much! It is interesting that creators do escape room accounts! That makes a lot of sense! The wiki was SO helpful when I was struggling with the riddles. @@brookesbits runelite has so many plugins that make this game much less confusing! Feel free to go blind but dont feel bad as most players use this resource. There is also an optimal quest order - you of course don’t have to follow it but it could make things easier though I believe it was originally made with Ironmen in mind since it’s so much harder to unlock things that can make regular account questing so easy.
