9:28 it is most likely more than enough money to care, general issue is Valve as of now has a toxic work environment, Generally you are meant to be able to work on any of the games at valve whenever, But the higher ups can threathen your job (from what ive heard) and other things to keep you working on the new things, Added to tf2 having very much spaghetti code, the incentives to develop probably isnt there, even if there is a want to, risking your job for something convoluted would probably deter the devs, And also tf2 not being the newest kid on the block probably also takes away from the incentive, So they add holiday cosmetic items to get the money from those wnd do little else unelss there is something behind the scenes we havent seen yet

I'd love to play TF2 again to be honest. But the bot and hacking problem is too much. :/

TF2 is an old ass game and if Valve wants to sunset it than whats the problem? They should either release the game to the community or just shutter the game
@benjimlem128410 сағат бұрын
I used to play a ton of TF2 few years ago until I just got bored of it, still a shame to see Valve let it go like that :| From what I heard in that 'save tf2' video including a simple community-made plugin would eliminate like 90% of the bots, and yet Valve does nothing. Disgraceful.

Can we just make games that can’t be hacked? Wtf

We should also mention the fact that the bots aren't limited to just tf2. There have been confirmed sightings of bots in Counter-Strike 2 on multiple occasions.

I mean the source code is leaking, so what can you do? The only option is to shutdown the service or move the game to new engine. that's it.

I think one of the big issues is the cost of fighting the cheat developers. Sure there are a lot of amateurishly written cheats all over, and they usually end up sig scanned. The cheats that you do see in game regularly though, especially ones being sold, are often developed by people who are particularly talented at making what is essentially malware. I don’t know if cracking good encryption or dealing with the talented cheat developers is more time consuming and frustrating, but they are costly to deal with, so much so that a company might not want to take action on an old product that makes them very little

What makes it worse is that they're profiting off the bots. In order to talk in chat, as a new player, you need to spend money. Many bots pay this to spam in chat. I've seen some with strange weapons (essentially stat tracking weapons) with tens of thousands of kills. They probably make more money off the botting cheater accounts than actual players at this point, and that's scary.

4:11 That ain't the original team fortress. That's Team fortress classic, the second team fortress. Not to be confused with Team Fortress 2, the fourth team fortress

I remember a bot hoster a few months ago where the bots used ai voices of soldier that would scream into the mic while repeating "i hate n*****s" over and over until kicked.

As someone who never played TF2. It's 17 years old. Why exactly do ppl expect Valve to keep patching this game? I'm surprised that there are still official servers up for it.

Source games were my jam growing up, css, dods and tf2 were my life. The first editions of class drops for tf2 was something else, was so good and refreshing. But after a few years, you could tell Valve didn't care about the balancing or the game and were treating it like a pay pig slot machine. With the leaks of valves new team arena shooter, I doubt this will ever be fixed.

Valve is now only interested in projects that make them hundreds of millions. Sad to say, but Gabe no longer cares, maybe he never did after valve’s long run of success.

I have nearly 2,500 hours in TF2 that I accumulated over the course of six years. One day I discovered that my TF2 inventory was cleared of all its high market-value items, likely because someone hacked into my inventory and stole everything. I complained to Valve and they said they couldn't restore my items to protect their market value. So while I still use Steam for other games, I haven't played TF2 since 2018, and honestly I'm vibing looking at the state of the game now. I guess Valve just really sucks at managing multiplayer games. No way will I get whatever their new class shooter is.

@mjdjoy10 сағат бұрын
Thanks for making a video on this Muta. The TF2 community needs more videos on it. TF2 does make money. People still open cases, buy items on the steam marketplace, and even the tf2 store itself. Thankfully, community servers are bot free and almost always full , but newer players don't know how to access them.
