Time to have Mel Blanc biopic. The best timeframe is the period where from uncredit to become the first voice actor credited on screen.

They need to do another documentary like this, but with more voice actors doing interviews, like Seth Macfarlane, Frank Welker, fred tatasciore, Tara Strong, and many more including more by the people here, with archived material by the ones that are now gone. He deserves so much more and we deserve to hear what others in his field think about him.

LOVED this. I wept real tears when Mel Blanc died...the only celebrity death I've ever cried over. Does anyone know, where did this doc come from? Was it made for TV? An indie documentary? It appears to be from way back in the 20th century! 😜

Mel Blanc could’ve reprised his roles as Bugs Bunny, Sylvester the Cat, Daffy Duck, Speedy Gonzales, Yosemite Sam, Pepe Le Pew, Wile E. Coyote, Tweety, Marvin the Martian, and Foghorn Leghorn this time for the 1990 TV series Tiny Toon Adventures as he would’ve recorded his dialogue and that should’ve been his final time before he died.

Mel Blanc was the greatest. He did like to embellish just a tad though. He didn't create Porky's voice entirely all by himself. The truth is: he was chosen because he could perfectly mimic the original Porky voice actor that had an uncontrollable stutter. Mel could control it and make it even more funny. They soon found he could do many voices. He was the best.

R.I.P Mel,I certainly remember those toons and even today I encouraged my own children to enjoy loony tunes and even today if I feel like a smile I will put old cartoons on the computer, but I didn't know that Mel was the voice of the Jetsons and Fred and Barney, such a talented gentleman.

49:26 Tom and Jerry was created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, since Mel Blanc voiced in Tom and Jerry Chuck Jones-produced cartoons at MGM and he did also voiced as Tom screams in The Milky Waif (reused from The Hungry Wolf (1943 MGM Cartoon)).

The man was an absolute genius. If you grew up in the fifties like I did we were immersed in the work of Mel Blanc and Warner Brothers and became quite jaded, Most animation that came later was lacking, sometimes sorely lacking.

Wonderful documentary! Thanks for making it available to us. What a gift Mel was given, and that he In turn gave millions of people around the world, especially children. And Kirk Douglas perhaps said it best: it’s an immortal gift that will keep on giving. The gift of laughter. He was indeed a great actor, and an exceptional human being.

I have heard several different stories about where Mel's talents came from. I have heard that he had always been able to do the voices, dating back to his days in grade school and I had heard that Mel had been involved in a traffic accident, ended up in a coma and the voices came out while he was unconscious. I had heard that, while he was in the coma, the Doctors were chatting with the voices and one of the Docs thought to ask if Mel was in there; When they said yes, they invited Mel to come over and say hello, and that was when Mel came out of the coma.

Mel Blanc and the people who made those cartoons had a real feeling for children. They didn't "talk down to them" with the content of the stories nor with the characters. He reminds me somewhat of Jonathan Winters who not only does voices but all sorts of other sound effects. I'll bet if those two ever met over a couple of beers that the other people in the room would be entertained like never before. I remember the first time I ever saw Mel Blanc on The Tonight Show. As a little kid whose parents let him stay up late that night, it was like magic. As a little kid, I used to do cartoon voices and imitations of people the comics on Ed Sullivan were doing for my little sister to make her laugh. Mel Blanc was my inspiration for all of it. So here's one of my answering machine messages... done in my best Snagglepuss voice with plenty of fake slobber... "Sufferin' succotash, ya just missed me.... but you can still leave me a message. Just say it succinctly and we'll solve this snafu once and for all... and won't that just be.... ssssuper?!!!"

Believe it or not they were not exactly directed towards children as their prime audience. They were really made for older teens and adults, especially by the time the mid to late 30s rolled around. They were featured in theaters right before Warner Films that were also for an adult audience. Years later TV came along and a selection of some were found to be loved by kids but dozens were far from appropriate for kids and never shown.
